No matter what the Pittsburgh Steelers do at quarterback in free agency, the position will still be a point of emphasis in the 2025 NFL draft. This isn't the ideal quarterback class to hunt down a franchise signal caller but if you are a team in need you have to take a chance.

One quarterback we are very high on for the Steelers is Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. The most athletic player at the position in this year's draft, his stock took a hit when he folded in the College Football Playoff. But Milroe's pro day performance brought him back around and put him squarely on the radar of teams like Pittsburgh who want a quarterback but not in the first round.

Milroe ran an unofficial 4.37-second 40-yard dash, which only reinforced his film, showing that he was the fastest player on the field. Only a handful of football players, college or NFL reached a higher top speed last season on a run. You add in the rare arm strength and other are plenty of pieces to work with for a team like Pittsburgh that wouldn't ask him to make 35-40 throws a game.

The big snag for the Steelers is they no longer have a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft after sending it to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for wide receiver DK Metcalf. The Steelers will have a huge decision to make if they wish to commit a first-round pick to the position or just sit and wait until the third and see which players are still on the board.
