Even with the recent acquisition of star WR DK Metcalf, uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of George Pickens leaves Pittsburgh facing a familiar need heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Given their proven success in finding wide receiver gems in the second and third rounds, the Steelers may soon set their sights on one more steal.

Name: Jaylin NoelCollege: Iowa StateHeight: 5'10"Weight: 194 lbs40-yard dash: 4.39

Stats:

Noel spent four years with Iowa State, accumulating 2,855 receiving yards and 18 receiving TDs on 245 receptions.

His best season, as a senior in 2024, saw the Iowa State Cyclone WR haul in 80 catches for 1,194 receiving yards and eight TDs.

Strengths:

Noel has great burst, plays with great game-speed, and is dangerous in run-after-catch scenarios. His separation at the top of his routes and his fantastic play-speed, coupled with his stocky and compact frame to break tackles, makes him dangerous at any given time with the football in his hands.

Weaknesses:

With limited experience against press coverage and few reps as an outside receiver, Noel may be locked into a slot-only role at the next level. His 29 1/2-inch arm length and 8 3/4-inch hand size could present challenges in the blocking department, and concentration drops have been a recurring concern throughout his collegiate career.

Fit with Steelers:

With Pickens potentially on his way out and the team already featuring Metcalf, who thrives on contested catches and 50/50 balls, a hole remains for a true route-running receiver. Noel is dangerous after the catch, boasts impressive acceleration, and could easily become the next great wideout drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second or third round.

Jaylin Noel had a monster combine, including a 4.39 40, 23 reps on bench, and a 41.5” vertical

But how’s the tape? Well…

➖ lightning play speed
➖ legit RAC ability
➖ slippery at the top of routes
➖ some alignment versatility
➖ short area burst

Easily a top 50 player. pic.twitter.com/wuc88Vg8G5
