I know it’s not universally popular, but signing Bradford gives the Cards a chance to make the playoffs next year. The contract is also specifically designed to allow the Cards to develop their QBOTF, whether it takes a year or two for him to be able to start. So you can count on the Cards to be aggressive in the draft and get a QB. This also means the Cards will have to make a major O-line decision. Do they stay with the vets, Iupati & Veldheer or do they cut them and take a chance on fixing the issue between FA & the draft? Whichever the choice, picking Bradford forces the issue on the line. The Cards obviously intend to keep Bradford on the field. They can no longer ignore the line.
