I never thought I'd say this, but yes, there is a more annoying NBA analyst than either Magic Johnson or Bill Walton.

Somebody shoot him, please.

No. Sorry. The role of annoying sportscaster HAS to belong to Mr. Bill Walton.

At least Walton can be entertaining occasionally. Smith's ghetto act gets old really fast.

I agree. I think Steven A. Smith is the most irritating and annoying personality and sports today.

Chap, Eric, if you guys hold him down I'll run him over and squash his head like a grape. :)

Guess I didn't watch those games...

I hate the man. I can't help it, I will not watch games he speaks during it bothers me that much. I think he is the worst ever! I was pissed he was even thought of for the top 50 players gig a few years back, let alone included. I long for the day he is off the air.

At least Stephen A Smith doesn't do in game commentary. I can deal with an annoying voice during half time (well, not watch it then), but Walton just ruins the game I am watching.

Walton's stupidity is funny. He doesn't know much about the ins and outs of the game like, say, Doug Collins maybe, but his stupidity can be hilarious at times.

I agree. It used to bug the hell out of me, but now I find it humorous. I actually kind of like the constant over exaggerations. He knows it's funny too. I just don't feel the urge to beat him like I do with Steven A. smith.

Maybe you guys didn't realize it, but everyone who watches the NBA loves Hip Hop, guys with cred, and really expensive shoes. At least thats what the guys in charge of marketing and advertising think.

Even if that were true (and I realize that you were making a joke), Smith doesn't have "cred." He is an idiot, posing as someone "real," and I can't believe there's anyone who doesn't see through that. On top of everything else, he's not even a good actor. LOL, come to think of it, we had a poster like that on here a few months ago.

By the way, I also agree that Walton is surpassingly annoying. It's just that I think Smith is worse. I have gotten a little better at tuning Walton out.

Now the one thing Smith does that I like is that he asks the tough questions to players when he interviews from. It's not like Jim Gray where he tries to catch them off guard or at the moment of defeat like he did with Carlisle last night. The players know it is coming from Smith, and he doesn't hold back. He also tries not to let them stay by with weak answers.

I can tolerate him for those three minutes. Otherwise he is an obnoxious ass.

Thank you for recognizing the slight attempt at humor. Smith and his 'I'll just out yell you' tactic in the game analysis is what makes him so annoying. You have one guy trying to make a point and Smith just keeps get louder and 'streetier' (really, it could be a word) until he dominates the conversation. Did any of you watch the NFL draft this year? It was the same with Michael Irvin, slaughtering the king's english and loud beyond belief, till no one else really felt like trying to compete in the shouting match.

Not everyone is as obnoxious and Smith. Charles is funny, lacking in many skills, but funny. I rarely hear Chuck getting ridiculously loud on a set in order to get noticed. Maybe I'm just not paying attention.

The ironic thing is, Bill Laimbeer is probably getting pushed out of the ESPN studio set because he's not annoying enough.

They've decided at ESPN that annoying is what sells. I guess the technical term for it is 'PTI syndrome'. (PTI is my favorite ESPN show. :( )

Walton seems to think that by adding several adjectives to each sentence it makes him sound intelligent. I just think he sounds like he got "word of the day" toilet paper. Is he working the finals? If so his love for Shaq will make it too much for me to watch.
