To be honest I'm expecting an entire season of the talking heads telling the world the Cardinals suck.

All the way into the playoffs. ;)

When I read his/her posts I can't help but think of NEZ

I can't help but think he's a foreigner. Seeing the town, I'm going to guess a Russian Mormon doing their mission here in America? Unless that's how they teach English at Blue Ridge. (which would help explain their 3A dominance for the past 20 years). Yes a stab in the dark. But what the hell.

As for Phil Simms, maybe he's been hanging out with his son, smoking some stuff....er cigarettes. But of course QB analysts are usually idiots for hyped rookie QB's. Since Bradford did pretty well in the preseason, he's already starting the stroke job for Bradford. Which may mean you won't want to hear much out of Simms's mouth for the next 10 years, starting here.

I picked the lions in pick 'em.

USA Today is about as correct as 2+2=5 about anything. They should just call it the USA Associated Press Groupthink Today.

Sterling Sharpe? I don't know why this guy should be clueless. He's not a QB, and never played for the Rams or NFC West. I don't see what's clouding his vision. Perhaps we're his upset special.

While the analysts are being the root of that word, here's a look at what the yahoo pickers think.

Arizona 79%

@ St. Louis 21%

So it's just some of the media being d-bags, or picking us to be upset.

Yeah, but we all have to live with the fact that NEZ was right, at least once. A lot of people laughed at him when he kept telling us about each and every retread veteran that New England had just signed as they marched to their first Super Bowl win.

And most of us realize that Thesmel might be right on DA and Hall also. Hall still has to show he can do it against a real defense and DA has hardly looked like the 2nd coming of Kurt Warner. If DA and Hall both flop we're going to hear "I told you so" till our ears bleed. Then it will really remind you of NEZ.

Is everything
I am rarely surprised when any team wins at home. Even bad teams will win 25% to 50% of their home games.

I don't really have a clue what we have? I lean toward Sharps views until I see otherwise. Rams have alot of draft picks and a good coach. I expect them to be gunning for the Cards pretty hard, this might be their best game of the season. Their SB again.

Hayes missing in the middle? gave up 45 last 2 meanigful games before the player turnover. i thought we had a solid continuity on offense, but We don't now, maybe we do, Beanies hurt, Wright, THT, LSH can't carry the feature RB load from the power formation.

DA was 44% with way more pics than TD's before Quinn benched him last year. maybe fairy tales repeat and the Cards kissed him and turned him into a prince?
Max Hall is exhalted to the throne by many, against scrubs without a gameplan?
I think Skelton is our best QB but needs 2 years in the system minimum, maybe 1?

I think our defense will show up great in spurts again, but this is an NFL marathon not a sprint. I hope we can play solid on defense for 60 minutes and hold onto the ball for sustained drives on offense. I hope against hope for a balanced gameplan and playcalling.

I don't want to need a hero. I want a solid win.

Your posts are always so contrarian. You're trolling.

Unless it's contrary to a mod? I remember during some leinart debates last season where I would debate about Matt and his play contrarian to an unnamed mods opinion.

I was outright told I was trolling. ;)

No. I don't agree with what he is saying either. (or your being labeled as a troll) Just because you are being contrary doesn't mean that you are necessarily purposely posting in the attempt to disrupt the board or initiate hostile actions.

All of us focus on the Cards 24/7. We read everything available on the Cards and some who live in Arizona watch them in person. What real perspective does Sharp have over us? Yes he was a great football player but he has to concentrate on all teams in the NFL.

If you averaged all of our predictions together and compared it with Sharp's I would think we as a group would do as well or better over the long haul.

Phil Simms also picked the Rams to upset the Cards in the picks segment on Inside the NFL this week, right after kissing up to Whiz during an interview.

We may lose but guys like Simms still have the old Cards in the back of there minds and tend to under estimate us. I wonder if he picked us to win the last two division championships? I sure know he did not pick us to go to the Superbowl. We will sure miss Warner but this is still the team that went to the Superbowl and almost won it. We must have some very good players on this team who go unrecognized. The only edge I give the Rams is it is a home game. I am going Cards 31 Rams 28. Reality tells me it will be Cards 28 Rams 31 because of the 3 point home field advantage. I will stick with my heart and not my head.

Ditka, Johnson, Carter, & Jackson of Sunday Countdown have their predictions. Only Carter picks the Cards to Win. Talking of getting absolutely no respect, well it is here again. Ok Cards, time to shut some mouths by kicking St Louis all over the field!!

You're right. NEZ was used to refer to the North End Zone at SDS and the crazy individuals who sat there.

He used enough screen names that I have trouble keeping them straight. Wasn't he also something like Captain Chowder or am I misremembering?

I think you are right. After getting banned didn't he try to get back in using several different screen names?

In a van...down by the river.
I'm picking the Rams to win this one 20-17.
Not because we're the better team(because we're obviously not...yet)...i'm picking my team because we're at home and we're a little healthier.
I also think it will take the Cards a few games to fully transition into life after Warner. I think you guys will get better as the season goes on.
Conversely,IMO the Rams will have some early season success, but get into trouble as the season wears on,the schedule gets tougher and the inevitable injuries and lack of depth takes it's toll.

Cheers to a good clean game this Sunday free of major injuries to both teams.

WE have beaten this team 7x in a row. THey have a weak O-line and a slightly improved defense. Not to mention a rookie at QB in his first game. I'll be shocked if our D-line doesn't beat up on thier O-line goiving the kid little or no time to throw. If we get ahead early this game will be over. On the other hand on any given Sunday????????

We can lose this game.

Bradford is going to be good, I'm glad this is his first start because by the end of the season if he's not injured he's going to be much tougher than now IMO.

I agree with people thinking it's highly unlikely we do lose this game, too much firepower vs not enough but a ton depends on attitude.

Again, it's good this is the first game, it's hard to make a case where you could have a trap game on the opener, because if you can't get up for opening day then there's something wrong with you.

I WOULD NOT pick this as an upset but I do have the Chiefs beating the Chargers at home as my one real upset pick of the week.

Good reasoning, but I'll still disagree with the conclusion! ;)

The Lions are not a very good team whereas the
Bears are a bad team.

How on earth do you figure that? The Bears were 7-9 last year with crap hitting the fan, and a new QB. It's pretty hard to come up with a logical outlook for why the Bears are likely to suddenly be a lot worse than that. People are going nuts with the Cutler hate.

As for the Rams/Cards game... Cards 20, Rams 17. It could go either way. Don't forget that this is a Ram home game; I'd favor the Cards by a good bit more if it were in Arizona.
