Patrick isn't that good of blocker, and not even the best TE blocker on the board.

Did someone say that Patrick was a good pass catching TE? If so, I would like to know what that assessment was based on, as everything I've read says that his forte as a TE is as a pass catcher? Or was it just a way of ranting?

What?

After ESPN's rundown of Breaston on the return game. I am sold. Looks like a goodpick if he can translate that to the nfl too...

I was a bit surprized with this pick, but he has been a very good return man for the last 4 years. A better punt returner than kick returner. Moves well in the open field and can take it the distance. When we use him as a receiver I think he will do better out of the slot or in a bunch formation so the defense doesn't have a chance to jam him because he's not very big.

Good solid pick!

First pick in the entire Cardinal draft I actually feel good about. This kid is elusive as a punt returner and will be the best guy at that slot in recent memory. Remember the Rose Bowl vs. Texas a couple of years ago? If he can approach that level I'll be ecstatic. As mentioned he brings very little as a receiver, but frankly with Q, Fitz, BJ, and the return of the real McCoy, and the Whis move to more 2 TE sets, there is no need for him to ever see the field on offense. He'll sit beside Sean Morey on the bench, and play special teams.

We still need another CB and a blocking TE.

ESPN draft guide Patrick

"At his best when blocking in space. Takes solid angles and does a good job hitting a moving target. Holds his ground at point of attack and always works to finish"

I trust Whiz's judgment but I just don't understand why you don't take a skill position player if he's BPA and there. What do I know. Whiz is going to be an awesome coach I don't doubt that but I feel teams are starting to go for fishing for the next Devin Hester. I hope he works out. I hope he returns 3 punts for TD's this year. I don't know though I am done with the draft for this weekend. See you guys tonight.

I LOVE THIS PICK!!!!

You all know how big I was on Ginn, and we just drafted Poor Man's Ginn.

I was at church and after abomb calls me and says we drafted a WR and I was shocked...I didn't recognize the name...then I get home and see it was the Mich WR and I about lost it...I love this guy.

Our return game is now, finally, solid. AWESOME!!!

Anyone who is pooh-poohing this selection should look at the youtube link above...I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it is jam-packed with awesomeness because that guy is a fantastic returner.

I freaking love this draft....Fix the OLine, Fix the DLine, get a motor and leader at LB, fix special teams. This is fantastic...everyone wants sexy picks, but sexy picks don't win games by themselves...they need these kind of guys to help them.

This is a very good pick. A chance to get a game changer in rd 5 can't be passed up. He'll replace Troy Walters, which is not a big loss.

The LBs, TEs and CBs left in the draft had less chance of making a difference for us this year than Breaston.

I'm with you. This draft turned out alot better than i thought it would after the Levi Brown pick, who is growing on me by the minute...My favorite pick of the draft is Buster Davis, this guy is everything you want in a linebacker, who cares if he is a couple inches shorter than the status quo, he is a flat out bulldog on defense. Branch in the second round is a HUGE steal, huge. Breaston is the big time returner we have lacked forever. Think about it, he has a chance to be an instant impact on our team, most 5th round picks sit on the bench and add depth in hopes they turn out to be something in 3 years whereas Breaston will instantly be our returner.

Everyone keeps talking about Breaston's speed, but he timed at like 4.49, which is pretty pedestrian for a WR. What am I missing?

WTF!!! with this pick!!!??? A WR?!!! should've taken another LB, we need as much comp at this position as possible. Should've taken the LB from OAKLAHOMA.

I about lost my breakfeast when I saw that pick... I hate Graves...

He doesn't get chased down from behind. I'd say 4.6+ is "pedestrian". I think he will take at least one return to the house this year.
