The Golden State Warriors will look to regain control of their first round series against the Houston Rockets at home on Saturday night in Game 3.
The Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 series lead with their victory in Game 1 behind an incredible performance from both Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Disaster struck in Game 2 for Golden State as they saw Butler exit with an injury and Brandin Podziemski limited due to an illness, which was too much to overcome as Houston tied the series with a victory.
Of course, Butler’s injury was the major storyline coming out of Game 2 after he exited the game late in the first quarter and never returned after suffering a pelvic injury after taking a hard fall during a rebound attempt.
After his MRI on Thursday, the Warriors announced that Butler had suffered a pelvis and deep gluteal muscle contusion and on Friday they listed him as questionable for Game 3 on Saturday.
After this announcement, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a massive statement regarding Butler’s chance to play in Saturday’s crucial game.
“We know he's willing to play through anything. So, we'll see,” Kerr said about Butler possibly playing in Game 3. “This is a day-to-day thing for sure and we'll see how he feels tomorrow, but I think there's a chance he plays.”
This is a major statement by Kerr and a great one for the Warriors as they will need Butler on the court if they want to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
While Kerr is optimistic that Butler will be able to play through his injury, Golden State may elect to sideline him as a precaution to make sure he is healthier later in the series.
If that is the case, Jonathan Kuminga could see an increased role as the Warriors look to regain control of the series on their home court.
