Not sure anything is imminent from the jist of this:

http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/05/20/cardinals-continue-to-work-on-extension-for-boldin/

excerpt:

Cardinals president Michael Bidwill, who was at the NFL Spring Meetings, said Wednesday, “We’ve worked hard at getting Anquan Boldin extended and we’ll continue to do those things.”

Boldin’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said that even though Boldin is still open to be traded, a deal can be reached.

I first picked up this report on another Cardinal fans website called "Revenge of the Birds."

It said that there were a couple of reports floating around that the Cardinals and Boldin were possibly working on a new deal or at least talking more seriously about the situation. It quoted Michael Bidwill as saying: "We've worked hard at getting Anquan Boldin extended and we'll continue to do those things." It also clained that Rosenhaus mentioned that his side was still open to some sort of extension.

I'm guessing that this is where Wyche may have picked this up.

Get-R-Done.

They won't save much if anything on Dansby so they might as well go do this now and make their run without distraction.

Wilson too.

I'm glad to see that we are working on resolving the Boldin question. I've long felt that Dansby wants to tesk free agency unless we drastically over-pay him now (which I think we've been doing with the F-Tag the last two years.)

Personally, I'm hoping that Wilson gets taken care of before Boldin. ADub has been grossly underpaid for a couple of seasons and unlike Q and Dockett, he's kept his mouth shut about it with the media. His attitude, on & off field performance, along with his contract expiring a year earlier than Q's, should put him at the front of the line.

Go Cards!!!

My lastest thoughts on a new Boldin deal is this :

He's got 2 years left on his contract now. A new deal will probably add more years onto the contract. He has done this "ask for more money thing" twice now. If they give him a new deal, he is just going to ask for more 2 years from now.

I hope they put something in the contract that he is unable to participate in mandatory mini camps, he forfeits some money.

Rather see Wilson done first. Makes sense cap wise. But the principle of rewarding the quiet individual sends a positive message to the team and the fans

I agree, but its the time in the offseason where it is relatively dead and there is little else going on.

My next thread is going to be a thread called "Hey AsUdUdE, what did you do today?" just to keep the variety going :D

Back in the olden days, when someone was a little bit goofy, we used to say he was twitter-pated. Amazing how words can take on a whole new meaning over the course of time.

Im not going to bother putting up another thread, but 12 news is reporting that discussions are now "positive" with Q. KW was also on the Dan Patrick show this morning saying he has urged the FO to get the deal done ASAP.

Right now, I care about the implications of an Adrian Wilson deal.

I feel like this deserves an ATTA-BOY... Thanks for the consideration!

I am glad things are moving in a positive direction...

Pro Football Talk also had a story up on Friday about Kurt's interview with Dan Patrick. Wouldn't be surprised to see Q show up for the last week or so of OTA's as a gesture of good faith.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/05/22/cardinals-warner-lobbying-for-boldin/

“I feel pretty good he’s going to be with us,” Warner said. “The real question is, is he going to be happy? Are they going to be able to work something out, even in the short term, so he comes back and is excited about football. …

“There’s no question [wide receiver] Larry [Fitzgerald] is a better player because Anquan is there. We all know there’s short windows in the NFL

. If you got something good, you got to roll with it.”

There are growing indications that the Cardinals might be inclined to work out a deal with Boldin, who has two years remaining on his current contract.

Boldin’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and Cardinals team president Michael Bidwill both sounded optimistic about the outlook for contract talks during separate interviews with Steve Wyche of NFL.com at the NFL league meetings this week in Fort Lauderdale.

Adrian Wilson needs to be done first in my opinion. Even if the contract is completly worked out with Q, get A-Dub signed first. He deserves it 100%. If you were A-Dub, would you feel like you deserved it more than Anquan?

One of the best things which could happen and I think really put the team emotionally ready to go after another championship is to see a press conference with two of the team's longest tenures of playing smiling with a contract extension...Q and A-dub
