Some of our topic titles are getting confusing (3:00 pm tomorrow was written yesterday) and the premature matching (the article was about the qualifying offer) are going to drive people crazy. Granted, the distance isn't far, but still...
As far as I can tell, the Clippers really did schedule a press conference and then delayed it. There are several posibilities but it suggests that there is a major deal in the works. A simple matching would not require this much messing around.
The most logical conclusion would be that there is a possible trade of Kittles to the Clippers. It would appear that the Clippers COULD re-sign Q and still take Kittles, but it is extremely unlikely. Kittles has one year left on his contract at $9.8 million so the Clippers may think they can re-sign him for a much lower salary next season (he just turned 30) or just start over. It's hard to tell.
Considering that this deal could simply fall through, this does not mean the Clippers won't match.
