Plot Summary: Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. Brandon tries to resume the life he left behind with the help and support of his family and his best friend, Steve Shriver, who served with him in Iraq. Alongside their war-time buddies, Brandon and Steve try to make peace with civilian life. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq. This upends Brandon's entire world. The conflict into which he is thrown tests everything he believes in: the bond of family, the loyalty of friendship, the limits of love, and the value of honor.

It might be a little too far in the hipster type genre for me, but it sounds intriguing. I want to see Ciarran (sp?) Hands too. He made an incredible Caesar.

According to the plot summary, the movie title is misleading and incorrect. If he was out of the Army and a civilian when he was ordered back then most likely he was serving the remaining inactive 4 years of his 8 year contract. If this is the case then he was involuntarily activated not stop lossed.

That's weird, because in the trailer I've seen, he gets the order while he's sitting at a desk in uniform, then replies that it must be incorrect because he's getting out. So the trailer makes it sound like a stop loss situation, and the summary makes it sound like he was called back from the inactive ready reserve (IRR).

I Imagine the trailer is correct and the plot summary is wrong. The only way it could be correct is if he was on terminal leave.

The technical accuracies aren't dependent on the story, he wanted out but he's got to go back. We can all appreciate the feeling.

Just watched this.

It was okay. Nothing great, but not terrible.

He had just finished his 2nd tour (1st in Afghanistan and the 2nd in Iraq) and had an incredibly brutal gun battle to end his tour in Iraq. On the day he was turning equipment in because he was getting out he got his orders to return to Iraq at the end of the month.

What happens from there gets interesting as his friends who survived over there and he begin to show signs of PTSD.

I won't go any further in case people haven't seen it yet, but overall the film was enjoyable and certainly brought forth problems our troops face today.

The first 20 minutes of this movie was fantastic. After that it goes downhill fast!

Just watched it.

I was pleasantly surprised, this was a pretty good movie. Ryan Phillippe was quite impressive. He has really bounced back from the stupid movies he did earlier in his career.
