They need to run the ball, but not quite as much. Even when there are 8 in the box, sometimes ( and the key word is sometimes) you try to because if your running back breaks thru, it's a big play.
We went into a cacoon offense last night WAY too early in the game. If this staff is worried about protectint the rookie, I have a bit of advice for them.

their has to be more playaction and counters called for the running game to get better. the offensive line has to start pushing defensive linemen back. get the run blocking going and this will start winning. everyone know that.

I think we have to stop babysitting Matt and Edge. Good thing for Matt, bad thing for Edge, 35 carries is way too much when you have an intelligent QB.
