From ESPN:
There has been some chatter that the Suns could send Amare Stoudemire to the Knicks in a three-team sign-and-trade that would also include committed free agent Hakim Warrick from Chicago.
And according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, such a deal has been agree upon.
"The Suns will use Stoudemire's official departure [Thursday] to make a pair of sign-and-trade deals with New York and Chicago, netting the Suns a $16.5 million trade exception from the Knicks and using part of that for Hakim Warrick's acquisition, according to Stoudemire's agent, Happy Walters," he writes.
There had been rumblings David Lee could head back as a replacement for Stoudemie in the Suns' lineup but that won't happen.
Instead, the team will have a large trade exception to use -- though $4 million of it will be used to acquire Warrick -- one in which they could utilize on a scorer with Stoudemire now heading to the Knicks.
