watching the game and seeing Fitz constantly double teamed was frustrating to see. what was it the 3rd qtr and he only had a 3 catches. i see why a really good #2 wr is so important. i think thats why the TE's were getting so open. good game though.

Other WRs and TE were great.

Kolb threw for over 300 yards, Doucet had 100+, and King/Heap combined for 100+. Would definitely like to see Roberts do more, but I think he will and I think we proved we have a balanced pass offense so far.

I was impressed that we were able to spread the ball around so much. Doucet's performance actually made me feel better about our #2 wideout spot.

I thought Doucet looked awesome. I was impressed, and I am not necessarily a Doucet fan.

Larry has been double teamed for years. Nothing new there.

Exactly. We kept talking about that in the game thread. How the Cards KNOW Steve Smith kills them yet he does it all day while Kolb can't find Larry.

Oh well as long as we keep making other teams pay for overcompensating for Fitz it's all good.

Glad we didn't try and acquire that bum Steve Smith...(I am still wiping the tomatoes of my monitor for suggesting that he was worth looking into trading for in the offseason)

Our wide receiving corp, including the TE's, looked absolutely fine to me. No drops that I can recall, and they produced with the ball in their hands after the catch. In fact, our receiving play was a pleasant surprise to me.

Smith killed us in single coverage. IMO we should always double Steve Smith.

Steve Smith is the Cardinal killer. In my time watching the Cardinals, I can't think of a single player who does more damage to this team.

As to the threads premise: DUDE! Did you notice that there were plenty of targets other than Larry Fitz catching the ball? Doucet is a bonafide #2.

Unless our #2 WR is Andre Johnson, there isn't/wasn't anyone who was going to draw double coverage off Larry Fitzgerald. In the NFL.

Larry had some balls thrown his way where IMO Kolb was being a little too careful to throw away from coverages, and the passes ended up being uncatchable. Chris Gamble is also a very good NFL cornerback. But the rest of the targets picked up the slack. I was surprised by how quiet Andre Roberts was. Expected a big game from him.
