As any player ever had a worse year of decision making?

He forced his way out of the Eagles as they wouldn't pay him. Got traded to the Jets, who also wouldn't pay him. Sat out half the season not getting paid and accruing fines. Then agreed to come back but only on a deal that would see him recoup the money he forced himself to lose via incentives. Then didn't earn any of those incentives at all except a $791,628 in playing time.

As he's about to be FA he finished the season playing 400 snaps and only had 1 sack and 2 TFL's.

The team he forced his way out of goes on to win the superbowl.

Had he stayed at the Eagles he's have a super bowl ring and would have earned several million more this year. He would have hit FA as a superbowl winner coming off surely a much better season and got paid.

His decision likely costs him $20m+ in career earning (around $8m last year + lower new contract) and a super bowl ring.

B, I literally had the same thought this morning on the way to work!. Got caught up in his pocket rather than what made sense for his career. Left a place he was revered to no be labeled as a problem child, and then let Huff who was trash ride the bench all the way to a SB ring. Sheez.

I mean this is assuming he was in the Eagles plans at all. They clearly traded him for a reason. There is a good chance I’m guessing he wasn’t gonna be an Eagle no matter what.

Very curious to see if he fits the mold of what Monti and JG want... Sure he played for JG on the Eagles but that is no guarantee that Monti/JG want him on the team after all these distractions and difficulties.

2 year cheap deal would be great while Ojulari and 2025 1st round edge selection develop.

They traded him because he asked for more money and they didn't want to pay it
They eliminated a distraction and then rode that peaceful well focused locker room to a championship. a group of team players all focused on a common goal is exactly what JG and the boys are trying to do here. we already see it in the effort....just need to infuse some higher talent to go with it.

All this and he still would be one of our 4 best defensive players.

All true, but we may be able to now bring him in for a ham sandwich lol.

If he's looking to re-establish his value for one more big contract, not a lot in to stop him from getting a ton of reps here.

He'll be 31 when the season starts. I'm not sure he has a 1 year prove it deal and then a big deal left in him.

He was very bad last year though. Going to take some balls for a GM to give him a 2 year $25m deal.

But given where we are I'd take a punt on an incentive laden contract. $10m base with $1m per sack.

He’ll get his huge contract, and it will be probably around the same in garanteed money, but a lot less money as base and a lot more incentive based

Not based on how he played last year.

Really? What four defensive players would have been better? Reddick played fewer than 400 defensive snaps for the Jets, so it's almost impossible to have a full accounting of his quality.

If you want to put him behind Budda, Williams... and who else? Man our defense was held together with spit and baling wire last year.

He didn't really get a huge contract in 2022. I don't know why you think he'd get one after the worst season of his career. Joey Bosa makes $20 million a year and is the 12th-highest paid Edge.

So if he gets 10 sacks, you want to pay him 20M? That's crazy money for what he did last year. If he gets more than 10M total, I'll be surprised.
