What if you could have Terrell Suggs and a Franchise level QB without trading up. You could maybe even get both with trading down?

If I were the Arizona Cardinals, I would be contacting Drew Henson.

Of course another question is

Henson could probably be had in the third round. I would MUCH rather take a gamble that I could convince this bona fide stud of a QB to give up baseball than to take Chrissy Simms.

Anyone else agree?

I would throw a 6th or 7th rounder on him, but would be reluctant to throw a 3rd rounder on him. Not because of his talent, but because you might get nothing in return. Henson would be giving up millions if he left baseball now which he might not do. If he left baseball next year, I read he could be an unrestricted NFL free agent for reasons I don't understand, which would give him the chance to pick the team he wants to play for. He would probably get a bigger NFL contract too as a free agent next year compared to a mid to late rounder this year. If I was in his shoes, I'd wait a year to pick the team I wanted to play for. But that's me, maybe Henson would leave baseball for the NFL now if he was fed up with his baseball career.

Well that is why you talk to him

Everything that I have read, Henson is not happy with pro-baseball. The guy simply can't hit at the Triple A level and will never make it to the show as a regular player.

You convince him that you are willing to let him be a backup for a year and then give him a legit chance at being the starter next year. Let him get back to playing football.

Point out your history of paying your young QBs (the only good thing to come out of your deal with Plummer).

At least try to talk to him. If you can bring in Chris Simms for a visit you can go for a real player as well.

I agree with you that he won't be a major league player. But is he willing to walk out of a baseball contract now that is paying him more than he would likely get as a NFL draft pick? If you could work out a deal with him while you were on the clock during the draft I'd take him. It's been done a few times before, but I can't remember who.
