(1) He played DE in Baltimore. They called it OLB but it was a DE position. On a 4-3 team he might have done even better but he would not have done worse. Remember he was playing part time too.
(2) Yes put Pace in Baltimore he would have had 12 sacks and won ROY - NOT! That arguement proves my point on Suggs.
(3) Also if it was just the team he played on why didn't they guy he replace get 12 sacks. And if its just the team not the player then why didn't Baltimore trade down and take Pace since he would have got 12 sacks in their system.
(4) Boldin and other players have proved it over and over talent produces even when on a bad team.
Suggs would have been lined up against Ts and he would have beaten them and gotten sacks for whichever team he played for. Just like Boldin caught balls and beat CBs despite a weak very weak supporting cast.
(5) If the Cards have an OLB who can get sacks why did they try and sign Colvin? Did the OLB the Cards have who can get sacks get 12 sacks last year playing part time. If he did then I take it back.
(6) To say a 12 sack OLB or DE doesn't fit on a team with the pathetic sack and defense stats that the Cards have is silly. The Cards can afford to pass on ROYs come on. It's okay to admit the Cards made a huge mistake. DG said at the time of the draft Suggs should have been taken by the Cards.
(7) Those who do not admit and thereby learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them. Let's say the Cards were drafting 9th spot. And Eli, Ben, Fitz, M Williams, Gallery, Winslow, R Williams, K Jones were all drafted before them and Taylor is still on the board. Do the Cards pass on Taylor cause they already have 2 safeties in Wilson and Jackson.
Uh no.
