KLL made a reference to the Doors being a "summer band" to him (I disagree, to me the Doors are much more a Fall/Winter band, but I digress...). What are some of the bands you associate with the warmer weather?

(Of course, there are some obvious ones like Jimmy Buffett...)

One of my favorite summer musicians is Buckwheat Zydeco. That's just great cruisin', grillin and/or drinkin' and dancin' music, IMO.

Jimmy Buffett, yeah, a very obvious one, but still so worth mentioning!

I would have to put the Beach Boys and Kenny Chesney on the list also. I think it's not only because of their obvious beach bum type of music, but also because I've seen all three, Jimmy, Beach Boys and Kenny, in concert during the summer.

Edit: Jimmy was kinda pre-summer, but it kicked off that summer feel!

I guess I'm in the minority on here thinking that the Doors were a summer band, however, it's just in my twisted mind I guess........It's just a few songs of their reminds me of the Summer.. I believe because I always connect their self-titled debut to the "Summer of Love".....

I would have to add the following:

1) Van Halen (mainly DLR's era)
2) Sublime
3) Led Zeppelin
4) Lovin' Spoonful
5) Mr. Mister

Definitely agree with Marley.. that's the ultimate right there....

3) Rage Against The Machine
4) Beastie Boys
5) The Fifth Dimension

Van Halen, Van Halen...and oh...Van Halen!!! :D

"Beautiful Girls"
"Summer Nights"
"Cabo Wabo", etc....etc....etc...

Even songs like "Ice Cream Man" , "Dance the Night Away", "Everybody Wants Some", "Dreams", "Hot for Teacher", "Where Have All the Good Times Gone", "Dancin' in the Streets", "Why Can't This Be Love" and even "When's It Love (sorry late Spring/early Summer girlfriend back in the day) lol :)

There's a couple other bands, but for me....Van Halen is "summertime" music!

Where's the little smilie of me spitting out my drink. :biglaugh:

That one song by Sister Hazel "All For You" has got to be in the top ten of all time summer songs.

"It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy.

and of course, anything by Disturbed.

The Eagles and CCR would be my first choices. I would also say Offspring and Rancid, mostly because of memories from summer while in HS.

Yeah...I agree on those that you listed..... Offspring usually have a very popular song released just in time for the summer.. Really love their newest song.....

I would have to add the following:

1) Matthew Sweet
2) Blur
3) White Stripes
4) the Police
5) Enigma
