I look forward to seeing the Sun Devils play under their new coach Tracy Smith. Also a lot of big games were played at Phoenix Municipal Stadium in years past.

For sure. Everything about Coach Smith (that I have heard) has been nothing but great things. Even though home games won't have the same feeling as they did being at Packard, Phoenix Muni is a great place for them to be

That's great to hear. I think he's going to prove to be a great hire, but IIRC you have pretty good connections to the program.

I was really close with Murphy and Esmay. I still have guys that are part of the internal part of the program, but don't know the new coaching staff yet

I watched my first ASU baseball game yesterday via internet stream against Long Beach State. It was nice to see the Devils get a win. However, I have a question. As I haven't been to Phoenix Muni in years, I kept seeing what appeared to be parallel cables stretching from the press box area (concourse) past the out field and beyond. My only guess these cables were supporting some type of shading for fans but I do not have a clue. Does anyone know what this is all about?

Interesting. I have yet to be out there as well. All I know is there is finally shade in the stands unlike Packard. That was the bad part about games there, especially in late May/early June. Absolute scorcher

The shading is probably the explanation but if you make it out there, let us know. Also you might look at a stream from Phoenix Muni.
