Chase is pretty good at running a spread offense.

I would expect him to have like 8 td's on us, it's the Cardinal backup rule, either a backup QB or RB will have a once in a lifetime career day on us, it's almost universal.

Hell, Testaverde came off his couch and did it

Someone in another thread posted that the Saints could overlook the Cards completely and still it could be a blowout
The Saints could probably send in their practice squad and it would still be a blowout.

Should be an interesting game. It would be the classic trap game for NO except that was yesterday against Carolina. They come off a huge demoralizing loss against Atlanta you figure they will be fired up, but hey it's Carolina with a rookie QB and they overlook them. Carolina's defense is better than ours too.

If this team has heart we could see a payback situation like we saw when Carolina beat us or this year Atlanta beat us. Just not clear to me yet what sort of heart this team has.

I expect the game to be closer than yesterday but that's optimistic probably.

To the Saints credit, they were starting Ladell-freaking-Betts at RB. Their offense is predicated on the threat of the run, and no one believes that the Saints were going to run the ball. Even though Reggie Bush hasn't lit up the stat sheet for the Saints, he's important schematically to the success of that offense.

And that's part of the reason that I expect the run game to suffer with Max Hall under center even if he's able to complete more passes than Derek Anderson. The possibility that Derek Anderson might connect on a 25-yard pass was enough to keep teams from stacking the box. It was just unfortunate that Ken Whisenhunt didn't feel like calling run plays.

Ahhh, smells like 2002 in here.

I wasn't here then. Wasn't a Cards fan then, either, so I feel like I am, at last, paying some dues.

OK, Prediction: Way too many sideline shots of Sean Peyton with a big grin on his face. He scares me way more than (high voice) Drew Breeeeeees.

I think I agree. As rediculous as it seems, Derek Anderson still gives this team it's best chance to win. Your division leading Arizona Cardinals are still atop a pretty weak division and it's way too early to throw in the towel and groom a rook. I'd stick with Anderson and hope everyone else in the division sucks as bad as we do. Seattle and St. L can't win on the road either while SF probably has the most talent but are a total mess right now.

Predictions:

Chris Ivory from that noted powerhouse - Tiffin University, will rush for 120 yards on 22 carries.

Brees will throw for 300 yards, completing 68% of his passes and tossing 4 TD passes.

Hall will be sacked 6 times before he leaves with a concussion and DA steps back in.

Hightower will rush for 35 yards on 12 carries.

Beanie will rush for 42 yards on 13 carries.

Final Score: Saints - 38 Cards - 17

Levi Brown and Brandon Keith will be abused. A-Dub, Porter, Campbell, Haggans, B-Rob and DRC will once again resemble Swiss Cheese.

But I do think Graham will land a few inside the 20... ;)

New Orleans doesn't look spectacular this year. That said, they still kick our arses.

I have a new way to lessen the pain during games. Shots everytime our QB takes a sack or commits a turnover.

It's a good thing the Bills aren't coming to town then...lot less shame in losing to the Saints instead of giving Buffalo their only win of the season

Like giving the 9ers their only two wins of the season a couple years back?
That could happen again this year...

Of course that pathetic 2004 season is why they have Alex Smith now. How ironic.

Its funny some people actually assume Whiz will do the logical thing and start Hall, but we all know that's not the case. I predict Whiz will stick with his boy DA in spite of common sense, I mean shoot why start now some of us thought he was crazy to go with the guy from the get go but what the hell do we know right? The all mighty Whiz sees something in DA that no one else on the planet sees! Who knows at this point I have lost faith in our HC's decision making from cutting Leinart to Beanie not getting in games early or getting the ball enough, to thinking DA is something other than a pile of crap! CKW has clearly lost his mind and will lose this team quickly if something doesn't get changed or fixed!
from apocolypse now,

whiz..to any player..."they say my methods are unsound, do you think my methods are unsound?"
player responds.." i don't see any methods at all sir"

the horror.....the horror...the horror...

49-3 Saints. That is not being tongue and cheek either. I think Whisenhunt is starting to lose this lockerroom. The coaching staff may be sending a message to certain players, but I think the players are sending a huge message to the coaching staff with their play.

If that is the case then we have a bunch of ********* on our team. Professionals adapt and deal with adversity as best they can. How much are they being paid again?????

I can think of no other reason. This team has played some real stinkers under Whis including all four games this year. There's no real leadership on this team, Beanies comments (which I 100% agree with), core players not wanting to re-sign here, lack of effort and heart in their play all points to players sending a message of their own, at least that's how it looks to me.

I can think of several. They had the dreaded player only meeting and talked the talk like they were making maximum effort. They backed that up with a pretty nice effort while facing some adversity against Oakland. Maybe this group just simply isn't talented enough to handle the good offenses. We certainly match up poorly with strong TE's.

But I didn't get to see the Charger game so I can't really comment on that travesty (Direct TV was blacked out here - why LA is considered the San Diego market seems rediculous, but I digress).

By the way, core players have re-signed here. But losing Dansby was a bummer though.
