Projected draft order as of today according to ESPN

1 San Francisco 49ers 2-13
2 Cleveland Browns 3-12
3 Tennessee Titans 4-11
4 Miami Dolphins 4-11
5 Washington Redskins 5-10
6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-10
7 Arizona Cardinals 5-10
8 Oakland Raiders 5-10

I don't believe we should bag the last game just to possibly move in to a top 5 draft spot. That is just lame loser mentality. No QB, RB or CB is worth losing our dignity over. I think we should play the guys we think give us the best shot to win rather than use this game to evaluate talent. Clearly Anthony Clement is the right choice at QB. His right guard position can easily be filled by Duane Starks.

true but barring a tie we're not picking 7th. We lose Sunday we move past tampa and possibly Washington into a top 5 pick. We Win sunday and Tampa, Oakland, San Diego, Chicago, Dallas and Detroit all have chances to pick ahead of us(depending on who they play not ALL of those teams can move ahead since some will win).

Essentially our pick will be somewhere between 5 and maybe 12 depending on the outcome of the last game. I think the draft is good enough that we'll get a good player at either spot.

Good, then I vote for the #12 spot and a win. Green and his staff have a great eye for talent, be it by draft or FA pickup. Win with a grin!!!!

I don't trust ESPN as much as I do Great Blue North who has us in the #5 spot.

I don't think we can get 12 I think we win tiebreakers that move us up but that's about as low as possible.

It's well worth five spots to see Rice and Pittman walk off the field Sunday as losers.

I cannot imagine anyone tanking a game. A player may not take a chance on injury he might otherwise take in a meaningful game but no one will go into the game not trying to win. If you are playing with a bad knee or some other body part you will probably play with a little more caution in our situation so in a game like this do not look for your best play. Of course Tampa is in the same situation so it should all even out. Some guys may give it there all in hopes of staying on the team.

I would like to see us tank it. No one will remember this game when the draft rolls around.

Here's an idea - As a team, go out and win all the games you possibly can in a season...and then, once the season is over, look to the draft.

50% of all first rounders are busts and it doesn't matter if they are drafted top or 27th. Top 5 picks cost too much. We need to win this game and move down toward the 10th pick.

Draft - A Different Way to Look at it

I vote for the #12 spot and a win.
Thing of it is - the higher a team picks, the more cap money the League allocates it for the rookie pool.

But rookie cap money is deducted from the total cap money. Which means the team would have less money to sign its own players and go after free agents.

I'd imagine the difference in allocated rookie cap money - between #5 (or even #7) vs. #12 - is not insignificant: and maybe enough to bring in an additional offensive lineman who can run block. Or just enough to put a deal over the top for a top veteran QB or legitimate run-stuffing NT.

In other words, it wouldn't surprise me this year if the fall off in talent between #5 and #12 is far less than the fall-off in the money needed to sign a #5 vs. #12. (Remember that, last year we picked up Dockett - rated #20 on Dennis' board and Dansby - rated a first rounder as well).

I'd rather win and draft later - and let Green's knowledge of rookie talent make up the difference.

We won't have to tank it, I don't think we'll be able to stop TB's running game and their short- to mid-passing atack.
