Do the Suns really deserve to be number 1 on the power rankings this week. The Golden State game was taken to account, but it seems as if the Suns victories aren't coming as easy as they were earlier in the year. Teams are starting to realize that you can give up the rebound in order to get back on transition because the Suns all run for the fast break.

The Spurs are at #4 right now, but they should be higher even though they lost to Miami.

The Sonics are a team that scares the sh*t out of me. I think they are better than the Suns right now. They consistently beat the best teams in the league and seem to be getting better. They play a more traditional style which may have more success in the playoffs. They have good defense and role players that know their role.

I'm not sure if the Suns team is tired or they are just looking ahead to the break. I really hope DA puts more emphasis on playing D, not double teaming, instead of trying to outscore teams.

seattle is a good team. but if you are bashing the suns for their play you might agiainst them and golden state. you might also remember that seattle has played less games then the suns and had many few back to back games. and as for last night remember that both amare and q had the flu.

dont know about you but if i have the flu i dont even want to walk out to the mail box let alone run up and down a basketball court.

Had the Sonics beat the Mavs last night then they would of been the number 1 team. I think our win in sactown gives us the right for number 1 spot. We have the joint best record so we deserve it..but power rankings don't mean much.

Seattle beat Sac the next night as well....

They lost to Dallas, but we last to Seattle....

Not to mention we have been beaten twice by SA who with us holds the best record in the NBA.

The loss to Seattle didn't surprise me for a couple of reasons. We don't play well with a few days rest. Seattle didn't appreciate the last to the SUNS in their home. They were gunning for us...

Nobody is bashing the Suns team, but right now they aren't playing up to their full capabilities. Granted that a split with Seattle is good. It would be hard for us to beat them twice. I don't want to hear those flu excuses. We lost plain and simple. I hope DA starts preaching more D. Our improvement in that area will make us a legitimate threat for the championship more than ever. As you can see the Suns make big shots, but it seems that as soon as they do that, they also give one up. Tied for the best record in the league is awesome, but a win over San Antonio and Memphis would make me feel better about this team.

The power rankings are kinda similar to how those college bball rankings work. Say a team such as Illinois is #1 the entire season going undefeated, but loses their last game, giving them a total record of say 27-1, they'd be put behind a team that is 26-2 despite having one less lost because they just lost. It's kinda the idea that you're only as good as your last game. Which of course, doesn't say much for the Suns either.
