Didn't OJ Mayo say the Suns told him they were rebuilding around Dragic and Dudley?

I dont put much stock in anything Mayo says, or anything a team in the process of recruiting a player might say. If the season is clearly toast by January then the Suns would be stupid to not listen to offers for just about everyone.

Dudley has the broadest appeal of anyone on our roster. Yes, Gortat probably has more value as a center but only teams in need of a starting center will pursue, while a guy like Dudley, who is a deadly shooter, holds his own defensively, plays a position that every team could use more help at, and is one such a cap friendly contract. Any contender could use Dudley on their roster and can afford his contract. IMO, only way Dudley does not get moved is if the Suns are lingering on the edge of playoff contention into February.

Scola - After this season, but hard to say who they trade during the season. Depends on what the other team in the trade needs.

I thought there were some rules as far as trading amnestied players that were claimed. Not sure if the Suns can even trade Scola this season.

Not possible. He can't be traded until next off-season per amnesty rules.

That's correct, the claiming team can't trade that player until July 1st. Forgot about that rule. Considering this I would say that Scola would be the most likely to be traded next off season. As far as a mid season trade this year it's hard to say who would be traded. It will depend largely on who were trading with and what their needs are.

If Frye is out for the year the Suns can clear his contract with a medical exemption or something I think, so there would be no need for a "salary dump".

Only if a doctor says that his condition would make resuming his career dangerous to his health.

If we make a trade it will be to shore up for playoff run. Shannon Brown or Kendall Marshall plus cash/pick.

Which seems likely in this case.. see Darius Miles, Brandon Roy, Cuttino Mobley..

I agree that Frye is heading down the road of an injury exemption and either way, I dont think he will be traded. With the liability questions of playing him again and his shoulder... and the 18 million still owed, I dont see him being moveable.

However, I didnt think the Blazers got an exemption for Roy. Didnt he get amnestied?

I guess so, maybe because they already got one for Miles, Oden recently.

Typing on a tablet, so I feel too lazy to do a full prediction but I just hope they lose a ton of games. I was so pissed with the Scola signing, its a bargain, but he's too good! He may make the Suns win 3-5 games they otherwise wouldn't.

Let's hope they're horrid halfway and the Front office really blows it up and goes for ping pong balls.

Wow....I don't know I just can't root for my team to lose. Maybe if they start out really bad and are eliminated from playoff contention early, but before the season even starts is ridiculous to me.

I know what you mean, we go through this pretty much every year now. I can recognize that we might be better off long term to lose 65 games but I can't ever approach the season that way. I enjoy watching basketball too much and I'm not just sitting around waiting for a championship. It's tough to watch every night when your team is that bad.

Good call! Unfortunately, it will probably get even worse over the second half.

Except for those who have been rooting for tanking right from the start of the season. And for a front office who would then know what to do with it.
