I don't believe with Nurkic trading for one guy like Markenen is the way to go. I think you need to do trades where we get at least two guys for each one we trade. We need depth. If we flip Nurk we obviously need a Big and then the long wing/PG too. I have seen trades where at least three guys come back in a trade for Nurkic. Some of them, I think are overly optimistic, have us getting two guys and a first round pick.

This would normally be the case but adding Markkannen would be like adding a fourth star. I don't see any way Utah does that trade.

True, but then we would STILL be missing a PF/Long Wind AND a PG. We would just be trading one guy for a better one guy. Kinda like we did Beal for CP3.

Nah, nobody can guard four stars. We would have a trail of vet minimum role players jumping on the championship express.

All James Jones would have to do is find a role playing point guard if he is not stubborn.

I have, to my surprise, seen comments admitting that it may be necessary to trade Devin Booker. I still think he shouldn't be traded, just because he's in his prime and the other two stars/superstars are old. Durant is a rental player in his mid-thirties, while Beal is also in his mid-thirties and had an injury-plagued season. As Booker has been entirely the face of the Suns for the last decade, trading him would take a sledgehammer to the foundation and enrage many fans. It's arguably the same as starting over from scratch. One would need to convince me that Booker should be traded anyway.

Trading Devin is an act of desperation. Trading a superstar in his prime, one that has been loyal, fan friendly and the face of the franchise since he was in his teens, should require an awful lot of convincing.

Unlike you and a few others, I do not consider Devin a choker or a playoff choker, far from it. But we're in an unusually deep hole, typical moves aren't going to fix the mess we've made. IMO it is time to start over, either this summer or at the midseason trade deadline assuming by then that we haven't found the miracle we'd need to make this roster title worthy.

I would agree, but that's what we said when we got Beal. No one can guard all three of those guys at once! There's whole threads about this here, let alone main stream media sites, etc.

Beal is only 30 and should be in his prime except for his injury history. His contract is what makes him untreatable. But yes, I agree with the sentiment! :)

IMO, the Suns got in trouble when they ignored the need for more size and a backup point guard last season. There should be some vet minimum players that could help fill this need. Also, the Suns might also be able to trade down or out of the draft in a two for one trade.

I mean… none of us should be surprised if this is true. Even us boneheads who initially supported the trade. Despite his tantalizing talent, deep down we knew we were making a deal for the devil and it was probably only a matter of time before he dragged the team down to hell.

And looks like that’s exactly where we’re going. Wheeeeeee!!!!!!

Who is this NBA to which he refers?

I'd imagine it's referring to interested parties.

James Jones needs to earn his salary. Tell KD to shut his mouth and we'll explore trades. Find the best 2 deals out there and tell KD he has a choice, if he wants to go public and whine then he can have fun riding out his contract here.

Going to go down as the most gutless "superstar" of all time.

Not sure what we could get for him, but I hope they're being proactive, try to get out in front of this before he forces the issue.

However... I doubt we are. The front office seemed to be pretty dug in and in a serious state of denial.

Tweet has been deleted.

Tweet was deleted. Someone want to sum up who it was from and what it said?

Idk why it was deleted. Wilbon said he’s not hearing good things about KD in Phoenix and Windhorst said other teams are monitoring the KD/Suns situation. Windhorst is pretty dialed in and doesn’t seem to report nonsense.

It's being reported nowhere else. I think Wilbon might have gotten fed garbage. Why else delete it?

Nowhere else? It was talked about on PTI. That's where the tweet came from, a discussion from the show.

Clip from show, starts at 11:15 or so.

Funny how the part about expecting KD back in PHX is ignored. The tweet is clickbait.

Much more interested in Bol Bol training with KD this off season. Bol Bol leaning on a return to the Suns?

Bol² is a free agent. Not surprised. He's working with KD since he's said KD is his idol and who he models his game after.

What surprised me was KD working with Chet. Maybe there is a little smoke to an OKC return.

That’s what I am talking about. Nobody is reporting or saying KD exit is imminent. That video said they expect him back.

The good news is that Booker is still going enough that they could give this squad one more go this year and still trade Booker for similar comp next offseason if they wanted to do a full reset.

You can if your offense is largely iso. You just keep rotating double teams. In an efficiency-designed offense like the triangle or the GS ball movement offense they would be incredibly difficult to guard.
