I never said it was the only trade available.

But I think you and many others are way overvaluing Butlers trade value. The only teams that I think would consider him is a veteran team aiming for the title this year, and you are not going to want to trade for Butler if you aren't on his pre approved list.

No team that has young up and coming players is going to want him.

To be honest he does not really excite me as a player much at all - the only reason I would really be for the deal is to dump beal's contract and get more flexibility for next season.

Miami didn't want Beal 2 years ago. There was no Interest. He revealed that himself on the podcast he did in the off-season. That's been backed up by Gambo and Zack Lowe. It's not conjecture.

That is your opinion. Your opinion is not the same as the Miami Heat management.

I don't know what their opinion is, but they were apparently at least a little interested in Beal 2 years ago when his contract had 2 more years on it.

Edit: agree to disagree.

I don’t believe anyone sees Beal as having positive value with his injuries and that contract at this point.

Also, the question you ado isn’t that simple because we’re not the only team that can trade for Jimmy. The idea that it’s Beal or nothing for Jimmy is a completely false choice.
I heard a podcast today where they went through all the teams on the list of Butler's wish list. They went through why it couldn't be done by any of them except for Phoenix. Then they said they couldn't see why Pat Riley wouldn't just let Butler walk.

This was John Gambadoro's take on the Jimmy Butler trade yesterday.

Here are some recently signed Suns free agents which became eligible for trade today, December 15th.

I didn't recall Bol Bol having veto power on a trade.

I knew there were weird restrictions on players in their second year with a team and nearing early bird rights, like Lee and Bol are. The Suns, or anyone who trades for them, get their early bird rights after this year which allows for basically a MLE type extension. Okogie signed one now and would have had similar restrictions last year on a deal.
