i smell drama down the road

while beal played and smiled his ass off you can tell he's low key pissed off - he half mentioned it in the post game locker room

he said he knows he's a starter - he said "no disrespect to anybody else but i know im a starter" or something like that

also said he loves Ryan and what he's doing out there

when you boil it down beal isn't feeling losing his starting gig to a rookie - he feels it's disrespectful and wrong but if he wants that $50 million a year and this beautiful weather he's got to say all the right things

after it's been boiled down it comes to one thing - can beal handle coming off the bench whenever book and kd are both healthy? he knows nobody is taking on his contract with his very own recent injury collection

if he wants to start/leave he'd have to restructure and take less and find a team that somehow needs the most filled position in the NBA - shooting guard/small forward - aka a dime a dozen

beal also said he didn't know about the benching - and answered a few of the questions with "that's a coach question"

ARE WE TRYING TO FORCE BEAL OUT?

Personally, just from video and small clips, i think Beal is low key passive aggressive. We see him smiling and laughing a lot out there, but I think that's when he is being passive aggressive. There was a clip last night when he was trying to talk to the ref about a play/call, and he was laughing almost in the refs face in a passive aggressive manor. It was an embellished laugh, the ref didn't say anything, then Beal just stopped laughing like an off switch. We usually see him smiling and laughing, but the other party isn't doing the same.

I see the same manners/characteristics during that interview.

He's making 50M per season, think about that number in your head how big that number is...its open season on him, he must take the good with the bad making that absurd amount of money.

Beal is constantly smiling and laughing with opponents on the court, so I wouldn't read too much into this. This may be the way he expresses himself.

And? We traded a few guys last season who signed here on 1 year deals to improve their value (Yuta, Bate-Diop, and Metu). It's a business. Tyus' value is known around the league. He's been in the league a decade. He came here to compete for a championship and we know how that's going.
Except it was well chronicled he was talked into being here with a promise to start. It would be a real bad move for the Suns and getting future free agents they didn't keep their word. Those other guys were regular pick ups. Not the same thing.

Do we believe Windhorst anymore?

I'd get it straight from Windhorst so there is no room for further interpretation.

Edit: The further a story goes down the line, the more room for error.

I get that. Been reading a lot of articles about Windhorst's inside info not being what it used to be, etc.

I understand. I tend to believe his information is credible because it reflects on ESPN, although I would feel better if Sham Charania were reporting it.

Btw, if the Suns can trade for Butler, who can play power forward, and get a center upgrade at the same time, they are magicians. However, like anything else, the devil is in the details. What do the Suns have to give up in addition to Beal?

Nurk? I can't imagine it happens without moving Nurk. It better not be Dunn. Besides, I would rather see Dunn at PF at 6/11 or KD then Butler at a generous 6/7 but that's our funky lineup. KD could move to SF but that still seems weird to have Butler as your PF over KD height wise. Again, your lineup has been funky all year so why not this.

If the Suns don't have to give up Dunn, the trade looks to be a lot more attractive.

I don't know if the 2031 moves the needle for Miami. Aside from that we have 2-3 second rounders. The whole thing is Miami is trying to shed money. Other than that, if he does get traded (Butler) it's probably to someone who really wants him. Just like Beal, that's a lot of salary, and maybe picks, to a guy who doesn't like to stay put. Big risk.

I think a third or fourth team would need to be involved. If Butler is traded to Phoenix, he is probably looking to wrap up his career here.

My son said that Butler said wherever he goes this year he won't resign with the team that gets him. Probably looking to be a free agent and pick his location?

A playoff team would have to do a trade because of salary constraints. I'm not sure if a bad team would want his bloated contract.

If the Suns are getting waffles, they better arrive soon or it won't matter.

I'm not sure what offense we are running anymore. We started the season good with ball movement and actually using the pg's. Jones assists to start the season were great, things were looking promising.

Prior to December he had 4 double digit assist games, 9 at 1 game, 8 assists 4x, 7 assists 2x. Close to 9 assists per game.

December and after 1 double digit game, 7 assists at 1 game, and the rest have been 6 or fewer for 13 games. After December about 5 assists per game.

bud also mentioned not being random in our play which is truer than ish

book and kd have their spots - everyone knows where they are tho and are beating them to the spots or designating the double team to meet them at their spot - every team is doing it against them especially book

remember the cute little bubbles bud put on the court for spacing? other teams must've seen it too - because they're all over that ish and breaking down court for the fast break - because we're so damn predictable and soft

our rookies are pretty random tho

It's weird. The Suns are top 10 in FG% and 3P%. The team is 11th in Free Throw attempts and top 5 in FT%. Normally, if you see a stat line like that? The team is dominate in the NBA. What is killing the Suns besides major lapses in defense? Absolutely no paint game. No inside presence. Last in the NBA in dunks. Last in the NBA in layups. They live and die by the jumper.

Some of us have been hammering this team since jettisoning Atyon to get a legit FC player. Nurk wasn't it. Everybody in the league was saying that the time of the big man was over. Jump shots and 3 point barrages was in. The Suns are proving to be the poster children of that NOT being the case. Notice how everybody in the league is also staying home on Booker. Inside game opens up the outside game and creates space. Their lack of paint presence on either end of the court is crushing this team. We are getting worked in the paint night in and night out by average FC players.

There is just no inside presence on both ends of the court. No lob threat, or someone who can gobble a rebound and put backs (without fumbling and bumbling their way to the stat line). Our centers on defense there is no shot deterrent, no mobililty to guard more athletic forwards and centers, and our centers can't guard on the perimeter. And we have two guys who lack the same qualities on our team, smh.
