I was disappointed that Dunn and TyTy didn't play against Memphis. They did a good job of staying in front of Ja when they played before. That's half the battle with him.

Hope I'm wrong, but it makes me wonder if such players like Dunn, Oso, Washington and Gillespie will be around next season.

Otherwise, why not give them minutes with the Suns going nowhere?

I am "assuming" that since we are in striking distance of the tenth spot, Coach Bud is doing what he thinks will get us there. He has shortened his bench. We need to drop to 4 or 5 games back, with a clear sign we can't get there to get some of our young guys more time on the court. Heck, if Portland can leap frog us, that alone signals we are cooked!!

Yeah, Bud has done a great job with the Suns. Maybe the Suns can get worse than 5 games under .500.

If the Suns wanted to make the play-in, they would have made an assistant the interim head coach.

It may not have been a long term answer, but it would have got the team's attention and a few more wins.

I know Monty was flying high at the time, but I really wanted Willie Green. I had forgotten about this, but Brendon Kleen commented how Booker and KD wanted Kevin Young as the head coach. Now people have been talking the only coach's that the team may respect are former players like Chauncey Billips. It seems JJ has gone out of his way to pick different guys. Of course they interviewed Young, but I wonder how much they really considered him. I was against it because our offense was just like it is now. However, maybe a coach the players want would be better able to reach the team? I am leaning more on the players need to be traded to change the results. We obviously can't match up physically with other teams, let alone following a coach's system.

Young was in charge of the offense last year. The players didn't want to listen to him. I believe they wanted him solely as a scapegoat. He was a first time head coach that would be viewed as in over his head instead of Vogel, who was viewed the same for the most part but there was no power play or struggle.

I honestly don't know what happened to Monty. He seemed like a players coach and honestly the crap that happened between him and the players sort of came out of left field. You have to wonder that if that stuff never happens, if the Suns continue on with Monty. I do wonder what Monty could have done with the trades or if he could have influenced any of the moves.

To me, Monty's end was a disappointing one.

It is strange, he showed a bunch of young guys how to be professionals and take each game seriously, but once they actually achieved success he totally lost his grip on how to handle the personalities.

I am certain that something happened backstage either during or after game 6 against the Mavs, almost certainly involving Crowder and Ayton and as a result Monty basically excommunicated both of them instead of doing his job as the head coach.

If you had told me, at the time, we would be moving on from Monty so soon after that finals run? I would have called you crazy.

The Pistons totally flipping the switch once he left is a poor reflection on him as well. IMO, was totally burnt out after the 23 season and only went to Detroit because they offered him a ridiculous contract.

I think many Suns fans liked Willie Green because he was a good defensive coach. It's too bad the timing didn't work out.

In retrospect, the Suns fired Frank Vogel too quickly.

I'm tired of trying to please the players. Maybe the players should earn their paycheck or be traded at season's end. They haven't done anything special.

However, I do think Bud is the wrong coach for the Suns. That's why I wanted the Suns to hire an interim head coach to see the player's reaction.

Vogel was overrated and terrible. Bud might not be the answer either. I would have loved to get Willie Greene as well.

Overrated or not, Frank Vogel had the Suns playing much better and finished 6th in the West. The Suns actually played winning basketball. Losing to the Timberwolves in four was tough, but nothing like we are experiencing now.

Better doesn't mean good. That team still underachieved and Vogel reminded me of Pringles and his completely inability to make in game adjustments.

Vogel would stiil be a vast improvement over Budenholzer. At least the Suns could play some defense with him as head coach.

And the Suns should have been better this season and he was able to coach Nurkic.

Vogel to me is one of those guys who is defensive minded but plays checkers while everyone else plays chess. It was so obvious in tight games. He routinely was out coached IMO. Bud seems like a guy who needs his type of players to be successful with his schemes. This collection of players feels like a bad fit.

Nurks problem wasn't coaching. Nurk sucked at the end of last season and it continued into this season. He fell off a cliff. It's not like he is lighting it up since the trade either.

Books new Penny Hardaway inspired Book 1's. The ones on the right were the Penny shoes.

At least Vogel won 49 games playing checkers and he did it with Nurkic as well.

Also, three centers are better than two especially with the Suns interior defense looking like a freeway with rush hour traffic driving through it.

Which was all window dressing that meant nothing come playoff time.

If the Suns rebound and don't turn the ball over... forget that thought.
