Yeah, he's growing, putting on weight, and his ankles are already cracking.

I don't care how the PR team spun the press release, this just proves that you don't draft 7'1" 255. twenty year old men who will only get bigger and already have chronic injury problems. Not with a number 5 pick and a player like McLemore sitting there, anyway.

I'm sticking by my prediction, he's out of the league or Greg Oden status within three years.

I hope its just PR that they are saying he'll be ready by the start of the season. There is absolutely no reason to rush him onto the floor. I'd much rather him have a very gradual rehab - heal completely and strengthen the supporting muscles beyond what is strictly necessary. I'm sure our trainers/med staff know what they're doing but I'm just as sure they can be pushed to cut rehab time to a minimum.

So you think McD would ignore the training staff when it comes to rehab time, but you don't think he'd do the same concerning a player he's been in love with for three years?

You twisted that so much, it took me a while to realize you were putting words in my mouth - to further your agenda of undercutting McD's choice of Len as our draft pick. You've been doing that at every turn so it shouldn't have surprised me.

Yep, totally putting words in your mouth.

It's not my duty to kiss McD's ass and agree with every move that he makes. His choices get to speak for themselves, and so far the only words out of Len's mouth have been "Crutches, please."

Like I said in the other thread, you can call us naysayers and chicken littles all you want, but we predicted more stress fracture problems and lo and behold, Len has another one before he spends a single minute on even a practice court for the Suns.

Guys les not crucify Len or McDonough until they give us reason to. Lets see if Len misses significant amount of games before bashing the pick.

Lets just have a little faith in McDonough for now.

I'm not saying fire McDonough because he potentially botched a pick, but it does bum me out.

All the stories about him scouting Len several years ago in Europe cause me more concern than calm me. It makes me wonder if he loved what he saw out of the 17 and 18 year old Len to the extent that he blinded himself to the serious questions that later arose.

I admit that is entirely speculation, and hopefully I am wrong. Time will tell.

What difference does it make if he was on the court or not? Stress fractures aren't the result of any specific impact, they develop over a long period of time from continuous activity. So this "latest" injury is not really new at all, but likely has been developing for a while now. So either the Suns knew about it before drafting him and decided the risk/reward ratio was still better with Len than with other available players, or they didn't know about it because the stress fracture was so small that it didn't show up on the pre-draft physicals and needed more advanced testing.

It sure is starting to sound that way. McDonough was so proud of his insider information that he overweighted it in his overall analysis.

i'm really, really hoping this isn't the case.

although, it makes me even more leery when scouts fall in love with Euro guys playing in some tiny gym somewhere. why? because they're playing in a tiny gym somewhere against opponents that probably belong in some tiny gym.

I know the Suns are great for rehabbing careers etc, but I do wish we could rehab a player that is worth keeping, or if he is worth keeping, is willing to stay.
Roddy Beaubois could be also option.

This kid had a ton of hype surrounding him after his rookie season until injuries and inconsistent play started to derail his career.

Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs? Pretty young too, only 25 and very athletic (6'10 wingspan and 40 vertical leap) I think this could be a worthwhile project for Aaron Nelson and Beaubois could come really cheap too.
