Seems like a reach but it appears Watson is ready to be an assistant coach.

Mike Lombardi is the Suns defensive coordinator but it seems the Pelicans have put more focus on this position by naming Darren Erman as an associate head coach. It may be all semantics but I like the idea of elevating the control of the defensive coach.

This is actually pretty good. I like hiring recent players as assistant coaches because they may be able to connect to the players better.

If so, it's just another headache. It would have been a good opportunity for the Suns and Hornacek to part ways amicably. Then the Suns could have traded either Bledsoe or Knight and gone to a more traditional offense.
