I just can't explain this. Frye had a horrible game. Dragic gets hot and goes down. Markieff is under the weather and still we had every chance to win this on the road against a pretty decent team.

Oh man what a rough loss. Dragic is kind of snake bit this year, guy is having the worst luck.

And Frye... wow... guy has been hooooooorrible so far.

I gotta say though, I'm not quite pulling a 180 on this team... but I am getting there. Through 8 games this looks like a playoff squad. I dont know that they will actually MAKE the playoffs, because the West about about 11 teams that look like playoff squads, but wow. Horny is an amazing coach and Bledsoe and Plumlee look like absolute heists.

I don't know if that's necessarily fair. He had a bad game but I still think he's a solid player and we need some veteran presence on this team

If he's not making his shot I don't think he qualifies as a "solid player". His defense has been better this season than other years but he was pretty unaware out there tonight. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that he has the same flu or whatever it is that was bothering Markieff.

Top 10 player in the league IMO. And that's with him struggling to handle starter minutes. I just love this guy and every day I'm a little more depressed than the day before that we didn't lock him up long term. I don't want to tank but if we have our eyes set on a top player in this draft we better be trading Eric and soon.

This is the kind of loss than destroy a young team's confidence and put them on big losing streaks. Lets see if that happens with this team.

He's been bad in every game except for one so far.

We can easily get a top player in this draft if Frye continues to get more than 20 minutes.

Sorry, but I think that's a huge stretch. Maybe we go on a losing streak but this is pretty much your run-of-the-mill loss. We were on the road against a quality team and played them even all night. We lost a key player down the stretch and still had a chance to win. If anything this loss should bolster confidence in much the same way that our losses at OKC and San Antonio probably did. Keep in mind the league leading Spurs only have 1 loss, to this very same Blazers team.

I don't get your reasoning. A one possession loss on the road is no big deal but you're acting like we fell apart against a horrible team.

Frye has been horrible all season. We keep giving him so many minutes and play him in late 4th QTR situations then we can expect more losses imo.

Markieff was under the weather, we had to play Frye. Plus, as you say, he's been horrible all season and yet here we are with a grand total of 3 close losses all to serious playoff teams.

Anyway, it's started. The bash Frye party that a month ago I guaranteed would resurface is now gearing up and will be quite a bash before much longer. I think you (and you'll soon be joined by many others) are expecting too much from Channing. He's not a great player, he's a complementary player whose greatest strength is the ability to spread the court. Unfortunately, he has to make some outside shots in order to spread the court and his shot has yet to return from the disabled list.

If Tiger Woods can be penalized by bimbos sitting at home why can't we get the victory because of an obvious non call on goal tending at the end of the game? Why weren't the refs summoned to review instant replay?

I hope the Suns at least try to get this verdict changed through the league office. We deserved the victory in this game.

We really dominated most of the play. The step back three pointer by Mathews was plain out of his butt. He also mugged Bledsoe on the next play on the other end with another non call.

OH well.

We are fun to watch and we all can give a crap again.

My expectations for him are based on his contract. I want him to live up to that contract.

That flop with Matthews with 1-2 minutes was bush league... that's one of many reasons I tend to not watch Suns game live - NBA officiating is 1,000 times worse than any other Sport/League. I can watch Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Mercury, etc. games live (if choose) with no issue but with some issues with heart; I can't enjoy NBA games live. Lol

One doesn't have to bash Frye, just give the facts. His offensive efficiency has been subpar his whole career and it is presently less than half his average. Among all PFs who have logged 80 or more minutes, Frye is the lowest rated.

So you want him to play on a par with Glen Davis and Brandon Bass but not quite as well as Kyle Korver? He's not worth his salary, complaining about his performance because he's overpaid seems like an exercise in futility. Most of us agree he's overpaid (not grossly but overpaid nonetheless). He works hard and does a lot of decent things but all in all he should be your 7th man, not a starter. Until his shot returns, he shouldn't even by your 7th man but with Markieff battling the flu we needed minutes from somebody. I think it makes more sense to judge him against what he's capable of giving us and judge management for the contract.

Who cares, we need to lose more games like this.

Winning 40 games does us no good right now, adding Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker to our new would be huge.
Randle is good too but plays too much below the rim for my taste, he does not look like he will be a big factor defensively ever.

1st thought: We got Bledsoe for, with all due respect, Jared Dudley? To put this in perspective, the Clippers may have traded their second best player for Jared Dudley:

PER through 8 games:
Bledsoe: 24.9
Griffin: 22.27

2nd thought: Miles Plumlee, Gerald Green. . .and a first for, with all due respect, Louis Scola who was an amnesty waiver pick-up? Am I dreaming or did the Suns pull off not 1 but 2 absolute heists!?! It's like all that bad end of the trade karma all came back to gift us back at once. I am absolutely tingling with giddiness.

3rd Thought: Channing Frye is the weak link. I have no doubt that Hornacek is aware of it.

4th Thought: I really liked the employment of the Hack-A-TRobinson strategy in the 4th. Very Popovichesque.

5th: To hell with tanking...

When a player signs a big contract, isn't the player expected to elevate his game to match that contract?

McD has done an incredible job.

I think his next move to cap off an amazing rebuild is to nab a superstar potential in a once in a decade draft coming up.

Bledsoe is nice but good teams become great teams by adding talent.
Teams also retain their star players by surrounding them other stars...

Because once these guys get big money the next thing they want is a team with enough guns to bang with the big boys....

Unles Goodwin and Len and Markieff can elevate immediately to stardom the Suns is still in talent accumulation mode.
