Gortat: 7 rebounds
Lopez: 2 rebounds

Gortat is clearly superior but its a shame that both are awful at making point blank layups.

Didn't they learn this in high-school?
You see ... Gortat starts his career really late (I can`t remember but around 17 years old). Before that he played e.g. as a goalkeeper in a soccer club LKS Lodz in Poland (of course as a junior; between 1994 and 2002. He played in senior team also, when they played in 2nd league in Poland). Then in age of 18 he starts his basketball career. After 3 years of basketball training (one year in LKS Lodz and 2 years in Rhein-Energie Koln) he was drafted by PHX. So I understand that we can expect more from his playing but still ... I`m impressed of how much he did during 9 years of professional playing. In this world, where kids like "big" LBJ are created as a stars around their 10s, it is unnatural that some guy can start career at his 18 and in a 8/9 years play in a club like PHX.

And also - on the beggining Gortat played better in offensive(IMO). Right now he looks like he don`t want to do anything badly and consequently he take the wrong decisions. It looks sad cuz comparing these moves with his offensive playing in Orlando ... well. It doesn`t look good.

Cheers for all of you, best wishes for next few games:)
Chris.

Yes, I think I read somewhere that Gortat started playing basketball late. It shows he may still have some upside. I believe Gortat will start playing better offensively as the season progresses. Thanks for your input. Often it's hard for a player to join a team like the Suns well into the season.

The way Gentry coaches is deceptively simple. We've heard the sound bites for years: He'll play the guys that are playing well, both offensively and defensively. And we saw that today. IF Gortat is having a great game, he will play in crunch time. So would Lopez. It just never happens that way.

But make no mistake, this isn't some calculated plan Gentry and the assistants had before the game. There was no way they planned on Warrick finishing the game like he did. But he played Amare very well and earned it. To me, Gentry's coaching in the past few games has finally gotten out of the gutter and he's backing up what he always says.

Rolo's dunk was beast. He rejected Chandler as well on the other side hahahaha.

^^^Most of it has to do with him sticking with the same starting lineup. Now players know what their job is.

But I wish Dudley would be more consistent.

That is all fine and dandy but neither team played defense at all and this team would still be better with Lopez out of the starting lineup IMO.

I agree but Gentry has love affairs with him and Frye and won't even think about doing it.

I think you hit it on the nose with confidence being the problem. Gortat possesses the skill to finish strong at the basket and, although it is frustrating to see him try to roll balls into the hoop over and over, I believe that Bill Cartwright will get through to him before too long and he will go strong to the basket.

We have seen progress in Channing Frye growing into his 6'11" - 248 lb. body on offense and defense. That, too, comes with confidence.

Keeping his 3-point shooting skills from negating the rest of the requirements at PF or C -- defense, rebounding, blocking, scoring in the paint and good ol' 2-point shots from the perimeter as well.

Why do I believe in Gortat and Frye's ability to grow? Because they're all we have. Did I omit Lopez? The guy is a flake! As his twin has become this year.

Maybe Gortat would be more self-confident if he'd eventually get his opportunity as the starter?

Big men take a long time to develop. Many teams give up too soon. We need to keep Gortat, Lopez and Frye, and continue to develop them.

I'd move any of the three for an appealing offer but I certainly wouldn't be looking to unload any of them (especially Gortat and Lopez). For once, we have some legit size and I'd hate to see us give up on them until we've fully explored their potential.
