"Suns go for the steal"

With no Bynum tonight, and the Suns so desperate to keep their postseason chances alive, look for the Suns to come out fired up. This game pretty much determines whether or not we are worthy, and if we even stand a chance.

Bynym was averaging Gortat style #s, (11pts 9 boards) the stinkin Lakers are 12-1 since the break. But with Bynum suspended, and us having Nash and Frye back, we gotta serious chance to steal one in LA.

Rebounds and defense...let Kobe be Kobe but be rough in the paint. Don't give these chumps nuthin. Pleas put Gortat on Gasol the whole time. Perfect time to catch these fools slippin. :D

GO SUNS!
BEAT LA!

Please put Gortat on Gasol the whole time.
That will happen only if Gasol comes off the bench or . . .

I'm smiling as I post this response to avoid stress.

I wonder if Gentry ever considers the benefits of our starter-minutes guy covering their starter-minutes guy, as you say, the whole time. Leaving our short-minutes inside guy to guard theirs.

OK, which one do you want? :deadhorse2: or :deadhorse:

This would be a big win. Losing 4 straight really put a real damper on our playoff chances. We really couldn't afford it. Winning against a team that should beat us would at least make up for one of those losses.

Lopez on Gasol might be one of the better match-up for Lopez since neither are physical. However, I keep thinking that Hill might have effectively guarded Gasol in the past. Anyone remember?

I do worry about Odom. Odom and Gasol could dominate early so Gentry needs a quick trigger finger if Lopez and Frye cannot play even with the Lakers early.

The 6'8, 230 lb 38 year old Grant Hill effectively guarded the 7'0, 250 lb best PF in the NBA Pau Gasol?? When?

OK Who wants to bet me about the Lopez-Gasol match up?

I am putting down $500 (paypal) that Gasol dominates Lopez in the 1st 3 minutes of the game, and forces Gentry to put Gortat in.

Any takers? Also only accept the bet if you have a paypal account.

That is why I was asking, but please don't underestimate Hills defense.

Hill is a great defender, agreed but him guarding a 7'0 footer who is very talented is a stretch.

That's like saying Artest or Battier guarding Howard....not possible even though Artest and Battier are among the best defenders to ever play the game.

It seems you are missing my point. It is not that Grant Hill should guard Gasol. Just going by memory I thought I had seen Grant Hill guard Gasol effectively. I was just asking if anyone else had such a recollection. It could be my memory is deceiving me.

Yea, this is going to be a tough tough game to win, especially with our last 3points barrage in LA. Not to mention LA is playing really well now and we just lack the talent.

We need to hit our 3s, limit our turnovers, and limit the Lakers offensive rebounds to have a shot at winning.

Go Suns. :)

I think there's a pretty good chance that Carter shows up given that it's a nationally televised game against the Lakers.
