JaVale McGee, Robin Lopez and Mario Chalmers. On most boards Chalmers is a late first round or early 2nd round pick. This leads me to believe that they have a deal in place for an additional later 1st round pick. I just don't understand why they are not bringing in Alexander again. McGee is a player with all the potential in the world but I don't think he wants it bad enough so I think he will underachive. Lopez will be an average role player in this league.

Let me also say that I have been thoroughly unimpressed with Griffin and his ability to spot talent. This guy must have dirty pictures of Sarver or something like that. I hope and pray that Kerr doesn't listen to this guy.

Very astute observation.

Thanks Mainstreet. I really think Griffin is the guy behind the Suns infatuation with McGee. I like Chalmers but obviously not at 15, too high for him. I would much rather have Lopez than McGee. But most of all I want the Suns to do everything in their power to draft Alexander.

This could be a situation similar to the Barbosa deal.

As for Griffin being the driving force behind McGee, I don't see it. He made a comment last week about how McGee doesn't "bring it" all the time. Since most comments are vague, this struck me as odd.

On the other hand, Robin is a very interesting guy. Having McGee as a workout target is somewhat more probable.

Please remember that there are all sorts of reasons for second workouts. this doesn't necessarily mean that these guys are at the top of their list. It could just be that they want another look before they completely rule people out.

I would not be disappointed with Chalmers towards the end of the first round, especially if they could just pay cash for the draft pick. Okay, you can stop laughing now.

You dreamer. :)

There is something about watching Chalmers play makes me think he will develop into at least a nice role player. I guess he has a maturity about his game. The upside is, if he could develop into true PG. His lack of size if he had to play SG worries me.

The withdrawl of Lawson should benefit Chalmers a lot. However, the reviews on him a definitely mixed.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Mario-Chalmers-278/

Weaknesses:

• Undersized
• Good, not great athlete
• Not a true point guard
• Mechanical offensively
• Average (advanced) ball-handler
• Shot-creating ability (for himself, others)
• Lacks mid-range game
• Loses accuracy shooting off dribble
• Clear-cut backup

He does some good things and is without doubt the best PG prospect out of the lottery. But he's widely viewed as a second round bubble guy for good reasons.

Kerr is going to have alot to say about this draft. After last years moves Kerr is going to be looking to make his stamp on this team. All eyes will be on him over the next couple seasons and he knows it.

Make no mistake...Kerr will not only have alot of pull but I bet he will have the final say on whomever we draft.

IMO, Kerr has already made his stamp on the Suns... and it was not good. The question in my mind now, does he know how do undo his mistakes? This is what separates a good GM from a bad GM. A good GM like BC knows how to recover from mistakes. Kerr has not shown me this ability.

Maybe everyone will laugh at another of my comments but Chalmers impresses ME more than Rush does... Darrell Arthur as well but I may drop him a spot or two on Draftboard after looking at his Draft combine workouts.

I'm just not sure how Chalmers ranks athletically, so not sure where he'd land in the 1st Round.

With the Suns declaring they would like Bell coming off the bench, Batum two years away, and Budinger opting back to U of A; the Suns don't have a lot of options.

I think Rush has starter potential and Chalmers does not. The Suns don't need a starting PG but they could probably do a little better in free agency I would hope. If they had their OWN pick they could likely draft both players.

I not going to laugh, right now unless we get into the lottery, he is the only quasi-PG we have a shot at drafting. As for FA, there's only really Arroyo & Duhon on the UFA level, a couple of interesting RFA PG's. Only other option is trading for one.
