I never thought I would even think this, but might the Suns have been better off if they had kept Lopez and traded Gortat. Lopez signed a three year contract with the Hornets with the second and third years a team option.
I can't go that far. From the fire back into the frying pan. 'Not good enuf!

No Gortat is still better.

I've been watching the game off and on. It looks like the Suns bench made the difference in this game.

And why the Suns now lead by 18 with four minutes to go.

I wouldn't dispute that, but the Suns might have been better off. I don't think there is that much difference between the two although I thought differently before the season.

I would feel better if his shot were just short or long and hit the rim. Gotta call a backboard shot from outside.

I'm just thinking what Gortat might have been worth in trade. Probably at least a couple of first round picks to the right team. Now he is probably only worth a first round pick. :D

I am beginning to think the Suns should have kept Lopez too. Yes, Gortat is still better, but his trade value was extremely high last summer. The more he plays now, the more his value drops.

I have no problem turning Gortat in other valuable assets.

Goran: best move of the summer.

Beasley: Yikes.

This team needs a first option player in the worst way.

a) no.

b) in what way would it in any way be possible? The Lakers are already having issues with a twin towers out there with a SKILLED big man with Pau... but now they're going to bring in Gortat who's not as skilled? yeah. that might happen.

Oh there's no way in hell it would happen, I know that. I was just asking for thoughts on it.

He's missed a lot of things. He's had people involved in plays that were nowhere close to the action. He has a decent voice but he's no longer able to follow the action.

Yeah, you're right. At least a couple times a game, he's unaware of what happened. Tonight in the 3rd, I believe, the ref had already signaled a made basket on an "and one" and Albert starts to wonder aloud if it might count. 10 seconds later he states that it indeed counted. Bothersome.

Yeah, he could get away with this stuff on radio but it obviously stands out with video. A few home games ago there was this one play where a wide open Dragic (IIRC) shoots from just outside the key and Albert, several ticks after the shot, said something pretty close to "I guess it's not a 3, his foot was on the line". I can see making a mistake here and there but if you can't see a player when he is standing alone and unguarded you've got problems. Clearly, he's got problems and we've got him - so I guess we're even.

I don't really disagree with the "Yikes" but it's curious that it comes after one of the few games this season where he's been more of an asset than an anchor. He gave solid effort most of the night on D and it was also one of his better offensive games too. I wouldn't give him the game ball but he was probably our 3rd or 4th best player last night . I'm still no Scola fan but he's probably the biggest reason we won last night and for the first time this season we didn't fall apart with both Luis and Michael on the court together.

I'm surprise this team is 7-8 considering we started out pretty bad and also changed up the starting lineup as well.

Our schedule has been incredibly soft. After these next 2 games things get quite a bit tougher, the next 3 months on the schedule look far harder than this one was.
