Here is food for thought, when was the last time that the Suns brought in a head coach who was not already a part of the Suns system; somone who could bring a fresh perspective to the program. As best as I can figure it out, it must be John MacLoed, over 30 years ago. Look at the list of our coaches starting with the present

1. FJ---------Former Suns Player, promoted from assistant coach
2. Skiles------Promoted from assistant coach
3. Ainge------Promoted from assistant coach
4. Cotton-----Fromer head coach/front office
5. Westphall--Former assistant coach
6. Cotton-------Same as above
7. Wentzel-----Former assistant coach
8. Van Arsdale--the first player the Suns ever picked,
9. MacLoed

Are the Colangelo's untrusting of people from outside the organization, or just extremely loyal. Do you think this might be a downfall when it comes to innovation and getting fresh ideas? hmmmmmm. . . . .

I'm not sure what it is that makes the Colangelos consistently pick from inside. Whatever the reason , it ain't working. It's time for this team to win a championship and history has proven that a new perspective is well needed. I've been hoping the Jerrry sells the team and concentrate on baseball only.

Watching this season's playoffs is making me realize that we may have lost a golden opportunity. I feel in my heart that we could and should have taken the Spurs. I really feel that Big Jake could and should have been used to assist this team in winning.

There are few opportunities to get a ring and I honestly think that we blew it bad this season. I know that this is a young team and we have bright future but I beleive that there is no time like the present.

Even if we had beaten the Spurs, and they played down to a beatable level, certainly, theres no wa we would have gotten through both L.A. and Dallas, all else being equal. L.A. would have finished us off quickly and in the event that we pulled the upset in that series, Dallas pretty much would have scored us out of the gym. We have no bench points, no way we beat Dallas in a series.

Just becasue the Spurs are in the finals, its not a corect assessment to say that if we had beat them, we would have been there instead. No opportunities lost this season. We learned a lot about our young, talented starters, and our shallow, not so talented bench.

We can speculate that they MIGHT have been a big boost, and I'll commisserate with you on the fact that FJ didnt at least TRY Big Jake, but IM sorry if you look up "DONE" in the dictionary, theres a picture of Googs next to the word. Its a shame too.

I dont know, its all hindsight, and everything, but really, we didnt miss any opportunities this season. We performed well above expectations. That was my point.
