I want them to keep Carter. He's shown enough that he's worth a roster spot. Waiving Okobo and resigning him on a Two-Way deal might have been an option but since he's not making much, league minimum, he might not clear waivers. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried speaking with his agent about that and they weren't receptive.

I think they can get a disabled player exception right now. I don't mean the one for salary but the one that gives them a roster spot. Teams are now able to sign players to 10 day deals and the Suns could really use a big for 10 days, at least. If that player works out then they'll need to make room but the trade deadline is February 6th, they need to do something.

I wouldn't count on James Jones to be that proactive. Expect him to continue sitting on his hands and doing nothing.

I'm not sure the Suns can open a minimum salary spot by simply waiving a player.

A disabled player exception is an interesting idea although I think a trade might be the best option.

Just arrived at FedEx forum for #Suns-Grizzlies on a very somber day in the NBA. Pregame coach availability is scheduled to begin in about 25 minutes as usual, but we are told pregame locker-room player access will be suspended for games today due to extraordinary circumstances.

Book should go for 81 in tribute to Kobe.

My understanding is that Book and Kobe were very close (with Kobe being very much an inspiration and NBA father figure to Book). I expect Book either to go off (perhaps not for 81, but for something like 50) or to play like he is in a trance. Given the shock of it all, either is understandable.

While today's games will count in the standings, they will be entirely meaningless in terms of team evaluation given the gravity of the circumstances.

League pass sucks sometimes. Why don’t they just show the stinking feed instead of cutting away to show the same commercials over and over again?

If you’re worried about losing Carter you’ve got a bad case of “ Suns Syndrome. “

I hope he starts with 2-pointers -- mid-range shots and drives -- to get going, instead of heaving from 23 feet.

Edit: And Booker scores from down low. Next play, Booker free throws. Well, after Saric misses a long range bomb.
