is it me - or is this just not the same team we were early in the season - and I mean not even close - we seemed to be bouncing with so much energy - on every loose ball, scrapping, diving, running and lately it just seems like all the press has gotten to our head or we're just completely rundown from the pace of the season.

Come on guys - 5 point - 2 and change left - seal it!

what is jj?

yup - another huge bounce back roadie w. I expect nothing less than a 4-1 trip. Man - if we could just play well at home!

It does bother me a little bit that this was another struggle in the fourth scoring wise - are we just worn down or what?

Some thoughts on this game.

JJ IS our half court offense. He is the only player on our team (except maybe Nash) who can consistently create his own shot.

This team seems to execute pretty well down the stretch. When teams really crack down defensively in the last 2 mins they still seem to be able to score. They also played pretty good D down the stretch. It

Amare did a good job of staying on the floor with 3 fouls. While his D really suffered, that's still pretty good self-control for such a young player.

Barbosa is improving. If he could get just a little more control, he would be a huge contributor on a regular basis. That move he made on the left side in the second, made his man look silly.

Nice win on the road. A few more dollars just got added to the JJ recruitment fund.

The way we're playing, it'll be home court disadvantage.

Nice win.

Need to be focused on the next two sure wins, Atlanta and Charlotte, before the big showdown in Miami.

Sometimes girls will get an implant on just one side, to make them match better.

No, no, no. That's mismatched vans, not mismatched cans.

I imagine the Memphis grizzlies fans feel a lot like some of us did after the Houston loss. the officiating may not have been great for the Phoenix Suns in the first half, but the referees simply refused to call Amare for his fourth foul for a long, long time. There were at least 3-4 times he should have received it.

Unfortunately I'm starting to change my mind about JJ. Just two weeks ago I thought that he would not receive a major offer from another team because of his inconsistencies in the past and his passive personality. Scratch that. Somebody is definitely going to show him the money, and I just don't see how the Phoenix Suns will be able to afford to match it. That is unless they figure they can just pay now and trade later if it gets too expensive.

It was nice to see the Suns win a game without being able to score 100+ points. Unfortunately I imagine that Hunter is back in D'Antoni' is doghouse after a miserable 1-2 minutes there in the fourth quarter. I still maintain that he is a positive presence on the court overall, but he just makes some of the dumbest mistakes.

Well this win puts us in the playoffs. Now lets focus on getting home court and take advantage of the Spurs being with out Duncan.

Firstly, Amare shouldn't have been called for that 3rd foul, so maybe the refs were making up for it.

Second, there are 3 premium shooting guards up in free agency. Even if JJ gets a huge offer, I don't think there are enough teams remaining to give huge offers to the others (Redd, Allen), so either we'll still keep him because of financial reasons of other teams, or we might be able to work something with another free agent. I'm not too worried. I want to keep him, but he still disappears at home for some reason, and that IS something I'm worried about.

The thing about this game that really caught my attention was how much our offense stagnated with Amare on the bench. Even though he wasn't getting a lot of shots, him being there really freed up shots for Marion and JJ in particular.

On another note, Marion's shooting has regressed terribly. I have no confidence in him making anything at this point, especially from the three point line. Not sure what is going on with that, it would really help if he could hit some wide open shots.

I am with you although I have never really seen a Suns player dive for a loose ball or be scrappy.

you know what's really weird - most of us have commented on us not really playing well lately, but even with that being said, since the All-star break, we've gone 8-3, beating the Nuggets, Sonics, Pistons, Mavs and Memphis - that's not too shabby(note courtesy of Marc Stein) - maybe I should ease up on the negativity - I think I just got spoiled with the ridiculously fast start. It was ncie to see D win us a game yesterday.

I get the feeling the Suns are in a shooting slump. They stunk against GS and did not shoot exceptionally well against Memphis. Unfortunately, if they are not hitting their threes, the Suns are generally not able to win against quality opponents.
