Just get it over with. Tear off the band-aid. It seems no amount of ppe or isolation is going to stop omicron. The school where my wife teaches is just taking an extra week for Christmas break. It's not that they think they will stop anything. They just will not have enough teachers or students present to teach effectively. So they are taking a week for everyone to have their sick time and get over it and then start again.

I just can't imagine what that would do to the emergency and medical care in this country if we all just stopped any form of mitigation (tearing off the bandaid) so it can run it's course.

I know that Omicron appears to be not much worse than the flu but flu and cold season already strains the health care system in normal years and that's in years when just a small fraction of the population gets sick at any one time.

Since it seems to be running through a lot of circles, is that a good thing (as best as you can call it good) to get it now vs later when it might effect playoff games?

Seeing the bowls get cancelled in college football and the playoffs right around the corner has to be tricky to navigate for those who are travelling and teams facing cancelled games.

I hope Payton's bout with covid is minor, but getting him off of the active roster is addition by subtraction. The naysayers were right about him.
