I wanted to see more of Bender. He and Ayton together weren't too bad, imo. He could have taken some of Oubre's minutes, who for some reason decided soft floaters over Gobert would work.
The Suns played *well for 3 quarters, then the stupidity got to them. Okobo and Crawford had miserable games. I like Evans, but he is a defensive PG who doesn't know what to do on the offensive end. Really tough to win like that with so many mistakes. JJ was pretty solid given his propensity to go off the rails at times. The Jazz only put up 9 more shots than the Suns, but they hit 3's and the Suns didn't. With all of the TOs and ORs, 9 shots was surprising to me.
I am quite concerned that Ayton runs out of gas/energy/desire so quickly. IF that is a defining part of his career that will be a shame and a regret. I am sure many will blame that on anything but him, but I don't think so.

*well for the Suns
“Only 9 more shots?” That’s a ton! If they even make 4 of those that’s an 8-10 point deficit.

Only 9 is in comparison with the recent trend of 20. But I agree with you that it is too many. With the Suns shooting percentages, they need to be on the positive side of shot differential with any hope of winning.

I get the use of hyperbole, but that’s a bit of a ridiculous exaggeration. I’m willing to bet they’ve not been outshot by 20 shots in any game this season.

Yes, some hyperbole, but don't take that bet. They were outshot by 16 against Minnesota, 18 in Denver, and 20 in San Antonio, all within the last 8 games.

Now, on the year, they are pretty decent at not allowing shots (11th best in the league, better than GS, SA, Toronto, Philly, .1 SPG more than Boston). But they are second-to-worst in opponent FG%. So any extra shots kill them more than other teams.

Wow I keep learning just how much worse than I think they are, they really are.
