Amare32's Key Player of the game

Amare Stoudemire- Amare has come on alot lately and in last night's win over the Sixers posted his 2nd straight double double with 23 points and 10 rebounds on 10-18 shooting in 37 minutes. Amare is getting back to his best and his match-up with the Jazz frontline will be the big test as many believe the Jazz could well have the best frontcourt in the NBA when everyone is heathly.

key's To The Game

Suns
  • With Steve Nash likely out the Suns will need to have another big game from Leandro Barbosa. Who had 26 points and 10 rebounds along with 5 steals in the win Vs the Sixers
  • Get easy points by running at the Jazz hard. Although Jazz do like to run sometimes running guys like Okur and Boozer will be key to try and get an easy advantage.
  • Most important thing is to play good defence. Last time the two teams met the Suns had a 15 point lead but failed to get stops and lost by two 108-104 at home. When Suns get a lead they must hold It and try and contain the Jazz big men.
Jazz
  • Jazz must feed their big men early. Boozer and Okur have given the Suns problems in the past and already this season. Both guys capable of putting up 20 and 10 on any given night. So getting them going early is a must.
  • Jazz must not let Amare get going early. He is in confident mood after registering two straight double doubles. No easy plays or dunks.
  • The Jazz role players have really stepped up this season. Miles, Brewer, Fisher, Harping have all done soild jobs and helped Jazz be so successful. They will be key guys tonight.

Final Thoughts And Predictions

The Utah Jazz host the Phoenix Suns tonight with the Jazz being the surprise team thus far this season with a 9-1 start. Which included a win over the Suns in Phoenix in the first few games of the year. With the score ending up 108-104. Suns blew a 15 point lead in the 3rd quarter. Although the Suns improvement has been increased since then with superstar Amare Stoudemire getting better and better as he has proved in his last two games by registering double double Vs the Grizzles and the Sixers.

How Amare does on a back to back after playing 37 minutes last night will certainly be key. He will be matched up with Memo Okur most likely who is having a very strong start to the season where he has averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds.

Both teams as mentioned played last night with both teams winning. The Suns knocked off the Sixers 106-94. With Leandro Barbosa who started in place of MVP Steve Nash had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals while shooting a very good FG%. Amare stoudemire poured in 23 points and 10 rebounds on 10/18 shooting. Marcus Banks who also stepped up his game with some big buckets in the 3rd with 17 points.

The Utah Jazz went on the road and knocked off the Seattle Sonics 118-109. Who are still without Kirilenko were led by the ever improving Deron Williams who led the Jazz with 27 points and 8 assists.

This will be a big game for the Suns to prove that the slow start was just that. While showing that this team is a team who will contend for the NBA title come playoff time.

Without Nash It will be very tough to win in Utah, hopfully he will be able to play but It doesn't look likely. Jazz who will be without AK as well so neither team will be 100%. The way the Suns are improving I have to go with my heart on this one and pick the Suns to get a huge road win against thus far the team with the best record in the NBA.

I agree amare32 that stat will be key if the suns are to win. I think that Boozer and Okur cannot guard stat and Kirilenko's help defense will be missed by the Jazz against stat and possibly even Diaw. I am a little concerned that stat played 37 mins last night, and he's not quite fully conditioned for back to backs. KT will probably need to log some important minutes to help on the boards. On the bright side, Marion wont have to guard AI. I might be tempted to use Marion/Bell on Deron Williams if I were D'Antoni as Williams is too strong for Leo.

Just wanted to add, these are what the previews will likely look like from now on. Doing full depth previews for the starting 5 take too long to do through a long season. I think I add enough information with these kind of previews now anyway. Will try and do game previews for every game. Normally just depends on work.

anyway

GO SUNS!!

Suns got worked on the offensive boards last time.

Suns need to push the tempo and limit the Jazz possessions by controlling the defensive glass.

Should be a good game tonight.

A good barometer against a hot Jazz team.

It's official, Nash is sitting tonight again

good - I was chalking this up as a loss anyway and Nash needs to get healthy if we're ever going to go on a serious run.

however, the fact that we had almost a week off and Nash hurt himself on Monday scares the crap out of me about our fearless leader's endurance for the rest of the season.

Amare looks like he's hurting or something tonight. He doesn't look like he wants to move very much. Either that or he just isn't working hard, which would be unusual of him.

Marion looks like he's the only one balling tonight, but good god, why is he already on pace to shoot TWELVE THREES?!

CT - how does Amare look coming off the back to back? 10 and 6 are pretty solid numbers in the first half.

Yes, I have NBA League Pass and the picture is horrible. Basically could not see the whole second quarter! Ah!

lol that Jazz commentator (the coach) saying that Amare had no effect on the game at the half, yet he had 13 and 7 at the half...
