No, you just need to see the right angle. He clearly, intentionally hit Booker in the face before driving into the arm and ball. The ball is about 18 inches in front of where he swings his elbow and forearm initially. Then, factor in the unnecessary force, and it was an easy call IMO.

swiped just missed connection on the nose

forearm in the chest a bit too

Easy call

Ayton can't handle the lob pass.

League is way better off de-incentivizing plays like that. It's like protecting qbs. No better way to get hurt than going up on a fast break.
I won’t argue against that, and if it is a call to curb tempers, fine. But the call itself was more excessive than the foul.

If it was Jae Crowder doing that to Mitchell you’d all be saying the same things I am.

Another 2nd quarter slaughter.

Our depth is legit. Contributions coming from all over the place.

Please. I’m watching the same game you are Steve. He didn’t hit Book in the face.

His forearm, near the elbow, catches Booker's chin. It's clear if you watch the right replay, not so clear when you see most of them though. Also, you can see Booker's head go downward slightly from the contact.

The Suns opened a double-digit lead in the latter part of the 2nd quarter.

53-40 at the half.

Prior to that they were playing even.

It is so nice to see the Suns not playing catch-up all game.

Players' emotions are an important part of the game and
catch-up wears you down. The fans, too.

Have we converted a 2 for 1 with Booker leading it?

I pride myself on trying to stay objective on calls. That said, "trying" is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

Wish I could reach through the tv and cut the mic off from those two jazz homers

That defensive lineup of Paul-Carter-Bridges-Crowder-Ayton sure was fun to watch when they were in together.

Yeah, I know. Initially I thought he got Devin in the nose but on closer review, he misses (by a hair) but still catches the chin.

the second that happens first thing I thought was let me check the board and see who blamed Ayton for that.

that a ridiculously bad pass.

Payne threw it either too early. Or too hard

Mikal’s length and recovery ability is unreal. He’s making life hard for a great player in DM.

I wanted to write about this but they’re doing it without him.

idk Ayton just has no lift. Maybe he was using enhancement drugs all this time.

several times the entire team sprinted back on offense while he jogged back

Conley opens the second half with a 3-pointer.
