It takes two teams to play a game. If the Suns main weapons Steph and Shawn are tired, along with others, while the opponents tighten the defense and better take care of the ball, it's not easy to get your motion game going effectively. Timing, precision,..., when more people must coordinate to get it done, there are simply more chances/places where it could go wrong.

Where's all the 'Trade Marion' posts??

Alot of positives to take out of this game. 3 qtr's are beautiful basketball. The 4th was a disaster but if the confidence didn't dent too much in the 4th hopefully they'll take out of this one the play that got them in control.

The Suns had good luck with using Williams at PF early in the game, but he was not in during the 4th quarter.

One obvious aspect to the game was thet the Kings played with a lot of fire when the game was on the line. The Suns seem to have a problem matching that level of intensity which shows most in the area of rebounding. The total game stats for the Suns were OK, but the 4th quarter was terrible.

One thought, I do think the Suns get bothered by the officiating a lot. Once it became clear that the refs were not going to call fouls against the Kings when the Suns drove to the basket, the Suns players stopped trying (except for some contested prayers Steph put up). The Suns cannot let the refs take them out of their game, even if it seems futile. It is much easier to get offensive rebounds from short shots than long ones.

First thing's first. The complaints about Hardaway's bad turnovers are almost a running joke on this message board. It doesn't almost every single games and usually in a crucial time late in the game. It will telegraph a lazy pass across the top of the offense which is easily picked off for a layup. Said, I think slin was a bit overboard. For example that "fumbled pass" from Marbury to Hardaway was a Marbury turnover because it was thrown at Hardaway's knees as he was moving towards the basket.

I like George O'Brien's postgame wrapup. To me the difference in the game was that everyone stopped moving to let Marbury go one-on-one. Part of me thinks it's Marbury's full because he just tries to do too much by himself. For some reason he could not get anything to drop in the fourth quarter, even when it was a layup. However I thought the real problem in the fourth quarter last night was that JJ and Marion stopped moving towards the basket without the ball. Marion in particular look completely exhausted and basically stood around the perimeter until the shop went up at which point he would try to get the offensive rebound. Only got worse as the as the quarter went on because Sacramento realized the Suns were having trouble shooting and packed their defense into the middle of the floor.

Listen we could nitpick the coaching every night no matter who the coach is. I like D'Antoni's coaching over all. Call me crazy , but I honestly believe if he had been coaching from the first game of the season the Suns would not have been in bad shape before the injury problems. I think this will be a very good team when they return. Unfortunately it will be too late to make the playoffs in the Western Conference.

Without Amare Stoudemire and Zarko Cabarkapa is Phoenix Sons team reminds me of the 2001-02 team. The biggest difference is that they are playing in a much more competitive Western Conference. This just shows how ridiculous it was little of the "experts" said Marbury had changed his game for the team last season. His game has stayed exactly the same. It was good at his first season with the Suns. The difference last year was Amare Stoudemire's presence in the frontcourt.

PS I'm really not liking Marbury right now. This guy just does not handle adversity well. I don't want him to be happy about losing, but his teammates are going to turn on him if he keeps showing his frustrations like this. He walks around with a scowl the entire game (even when they are doing well) and barks at his teammates too much.

I watched the entire game last night and I already knew before the 4th quarter started that the Kings would find a way to pull out the win.

I think this team stands around way too much in cruch time expecting Marbs to pull out the wins. No movement=forced shots.

Joe Johnson-played very well for three quarters, then did his usual BS. I watched him blow by his man twice early in the fourth to get about four feet from the basket, only to try and kick it out to another player. I have never seen someone so scared to shoot the damn ball in the fourth.

Man I sure wished Barbosa was healthy right now. I would have loved to see him driving the ball to the hoop in the 4th.
