Again, why does Gentry sit Dragic for so damn long?

If anything, play him WITH Telfair! No need for Brown in the game, he's already cooled off.

Gentry has a tendency to stick with a lineup that is playing well, perhaps too long.

Well, +/- never tells a full story but I've acknowledged that he has his moments. Focus on him for 3 games straight and see what you think. I don't think it will take 3 games for you to want to strangle him.

Diogu or that other big man the Suns released.

I'd have preferred Diogu too but I think Ike expects some court time. Zeller has to know his job is to keep a fan from sneaking onto the bench.

Telfair is definitely killing the Knicks right now, especially defensively. It's silly to say the least

You ask too much of Zeller.

The Suns are not getting any calls.

It's hard to knock Telfair when he helped get the Suns back in the game. Telfair and Dragic might have been a good combination as Sunsfan88 pointed out.

I'll post here what I just posted in the New Lineup thread, with the Suns going with three bench players in the 4th quarter to close the game . . .

Without a go-to player, Gentry deserves credit for having the Suns play over their head.

We hung in there against the Knicks with an interesting combination who played right 'til the end in the 4th quarter.

PG--Telfair, not Dragic
SG--Brown (now the starter, of course)
SF--Dudley (our backup SG)
PF--Tucker, over Morris and Scola
C---Gortat (O'Neal did not play, probably due to injury)

They mounted a comeback and hung in there with the Knicks who are undefeated at home and have the 5th best W-L record in the league.

As EJ said, if the Suns had played as well earlier in the game as they did in the 4th quarter, they would have had a chance.

. . . and I'll add that the refs made sure the Knicks remained undefeated at home. Whistling during a Suns scoring play because the shooting clock was not accurate. EJ thought they should have let the play continue. And a key no-call for the Knicks when we were clearly fouled.

Perhaps more important than anything else, our performance vs. the Knicks atoned for our 40 point loss in the last game. And now we can move on.

Agreed on combination, yet maybe I need glasses LOL, because I don't see that combination out there very often. Anyway Telfair had his moments today and did deserve to play more. Mostly have to blame Gentry for this situation right now, not just today. Poor rotation, giving up on key players, also those on the bench (Johnson, Marshall, Garett?) as well as the games we're loosing.

Actually, Gentry has used a combination of Telfair at PG and Dragic at SG in quite a few 4th quarters so far this season.

I'm so tired of being the only Scola basher on this board. Will someone please take the Scola challenge and tell me I'm right or softly break it to me that I'm a little whacked? The challenge is this: For three straight games focus on Luis on every play that he's out there. Forget about everything else, just watch Scola. I'm serious, I'm not at all sure that he is appreciably better than Beasley and I agree with Pbit - Beasley is horrible. He probably does a few more good things than Michael but I swear he kills us in just as many ways.

Steve

Scola is completely lost on the defensive end. He looks as if though he is really not sure what he is supposed to do and where he is supposed to be. He has these "I am confused" moments on offense once in a while, but it is really a lot more noticeable on defense.

I am not sure how well I explained what I've observed. I am finding it difficult to articulate exactly what I noticed, but I really think that I know exactly what you've been saying about Scola- he is just completely lost out there.

When he is efficient on offense and maybe draws a charge or two, it's really easy to overlook his flaws (especially on his current salary), but when he is not doing those couple of things well, his flaws are really noticeable.

On a side note- I think Beasley has been doing much better last couple of games. He still can't guard a chair, but he doesn't seem to be forcing things on offense as much as he used to.

He is as bad as ever. Similar to the Scola challenge, watch the Sleaze when the ball isnt in his hands on offense or when he is playing defense. He is absolutely useless. Worse than useless even because it puts a heavy burden on his teammates to constantly be 4 on 5. +,- on an individual game basis can be a misleading stat, but the Beasley is regularly our worst player in that stat says a lot. We are dramatically worse when he is on the court.

Watch Scola go to the Spurs after the season and play like an absolute star for them next year.

in a few yes, but not as much as he might should have.. I like Telfair's game too, but in this last game in which he played very good and almost the same minutes compared to Goran, in my opinion Goran and statistically was still better. Had more assists, rebounds, both had two tournovers , but Telfair scored two points more than Goran. Who said we wouldn't made even bigger run with him in the lineup later in the second half. At least I didn't forget what he's capable of doing in single quarter to San Antonio...Gentry apparently did.
Next game please.
