This is true, but if resting him for this game will help him to be even more healthy for the next game than I think you sit him and see what the other guys can do in his place.

It’s a tricky calculation with a few variables. How much healthier can he be if he rests today? How healthy is he tonight? How badly do we need this game?

I think we will know in the first 3 minutes if he’s effective. There’s also defense to consider.

In the last game Ayton defended Davis for about 6.5 minutes and the Lakers scored 27 points on those possessions.

The rest of the team defended Davis for about 6.5 minutes as well and the lakers scored 40 points on those possessions.

One stat that pops out is Bridges who covered Davis for about a minute resulting in 11 Laker points.

Yup. As I said in the previous game thread, when Mikal Bridges is getting aggressively hunted on defense it’s scary hours.

Ayton is probably a top-5 NBA defender against elite bigs.
