Pretty good start.

Win or lose, I'm glad Scott Williams sent Malone to the locker room. Bout time someone other then himself did that.

Apart from that run the lakers make, Suns are playing very aggressive. JJ is hitting from outside. Nice penetration, and White is doing well on Shaq.

Watching Marbury on offense is like watching perfection. At least, in this game it is.

Is JJ starting to get more dunks? He sure had more dunks in the last games than I can remember him having the entire last season.

Malone has a severe strain, maybe even a tear in his knee.

I haven't complained about the officiating, but I have to right now. They seem to be all right on foul calls, but they are missing a ton of stuff like push offs and traveling. Both Payton and Shaq have travelled a couple times and the refs are swallowing their whistles.

No call on Marion getting pushed in the back. Lakers score
No call on Scott White getting hammered in the post-Lakers score.

Lakers go into the half with a strong lead.

What's up with Williams calling Marbury an a-hole and other cuss words?

McCoy didn't say much about the incident at all. I only read that on a Lakers board.

I haven't been able to watch the game. Williams injured Malone? That would be truly remarkable, since Malone has gone 10 or 12 or whatever number of years without sustaining any sort of significant injury. What happened?

"You have to keep laughing, to keep you from crying." Al McCoy on the officials.

No tech on Shaq throwing the ball into the crowd.

Suns still a show though.

I find that hard to believe, especially from a Laker board.

Just know that Williams apparently fell on Malone's knee and after the incident with Marbury during the 20sec timeout Williams has seen no minutes.

Perhaps he was talking to or about a referee, and they're afraid to put him in because he'll get a ton of calls against him.

Well but McCoy said that Marbury and Williams were having an emotional exchange of words though he kind of brushed it off.

Williams got caught inside and thought he had nowhere to go and called a 20sec timout. Marbury was complaining to him about not kicking the ball out to him.

Jahidi White has really impressed against Shaq. Suns are really getting into that groove like last year. Maintaining the aggressive play is the key in this 4th qtr.

Marion, JJ, and Steph all having real good games. Even Penny has done some nice things. Hasn't shot well but contributed in other ways.

Suns can really win this one.

Isn't it funny that D'Antoni plays Hardaway in crunchtime now that he hasn't made a shot all night and takes a bad early 3 point shot?

COuld be that the suns are also afraid of retaliation from the lakers on scott williams.. God knows the suns don't need another injury.

What a heart breaker!

Suns deserved this! Refs don't let many tight games go against the Lakers in their house.

Hey... alteast Malone is sitting on his ass in the locker room.

F%$k I hate the Lakers.

Bryon Russel was a killer tonight!

Good signs for the Suns. We HAVE to bring this type of game to Seattle. This is the Suns who can make the playoffs. With all the discussion over size and how little depth we have, we've taken it to the Lakers and almost won. wait till Zarko and Amare come back. With this attitude and style we're gonna be good.

I thought the Suns' woes at SG were nicely encapsulated by one exchange at the very end of the game. The Suns had cut the lead to three and Bryant had turned the ball over. Phoenix comes down, Joe Johnson has the ball and goes to work, gets a good look, clank. There is your Offensively Inept Shooting Guard. Lakers come down, Devean George is being guarded by Hardaway at the free-throw line, Hardaway falls asleep and George goes straight to the hoop for a layup. And there is your Defensively Inept Shooting Guard.

Together they are half-decent, but either one alone is a disaster.
