Man if I’m monty I implement the hint doncic on literally every offensive possession. But I do it with three players. Make him guard Paul all over the place, make him guard Booker, and make him lean on Ayton in the post. He’ll be completely exhausted.

The upside is if kidd goes away from the switching defense into a trap someone is open. In that case keep the attacker as Paul bc he will invariably figure out where the missing defender is and make Dallas pay. If the go over punish Dallas with drives.

I'm cheering for the suns but kind of surprised that they have only 31 straight sellouts in a row when they were in the finals last year and best record this year. That streak includes playoff games too.
My wife and I both work. We have no kids. Used to have Cardinals season tickets. Just can’t afford to go. Can’t imagine we are alone.

100%. That was the difference. Lack of depth. If we could have used more bodies IMO we could have tired them out and IMO would have won last year. When Ayton went to the bench it was like giving them a private escort in the paint.

Also, I was listening to Dallas radio today. They were saying that playing zone isn't just to help Luka out defensively. They said it's also about conserving his energy and preventing him from getting worn down by chasing our guys around the court. They feel if Luka can conserve more energy, he will be more effective at the end of games. Seems like they are convinced Kidd changes his entire approach for Game 3.
It's actually probably a smart thing for them to do considering how bad our 3 point shooting has been of late.

I'm convinced these guys in the debate shows flip a coin on every topic as to which side they will take and then argue the most extreme click-bait view.
Yeah, that's not just in sports dialogue, unfortunately.

I have a feeling the Suns might see Boban Marjanović tonight as the Mavericks try something new.

I think they are just going to go to a zone and make the Suns shoot over. It will take DA out of the offense somewhat and preserve defensive energy. I just don't know how well Dallas executes an NBA style zone.

Yep, going Zone is going to help Luka out defensively and in their minds save Luka some energy. The Suns MUST break the zone.

Or set up DA in the middle of the zone and just launch middies until Kidd decides it’s not worth it

Nope DA is the perfect guy to break a zone. Getting the ball to middle kills a zone and DA has the best mid range of any big in the NBA.

Vegas has this game at Even, which seems a little odd. Are the Mavs significantly better at home or something?

i'd favor the Mavs to win 1 of their 2 home games but more likely the 2nd out of desperation.

their only advantage this game is home court and the Suns are the best away team in the nba

i'd test how the Mavs are going to handle us hunting Luka right out of the gate
