I'm a little upset that we can't take care of him for now. I mean we aren't going to make any deals that will put us to the top 4 in the west.
Barbosa can still play, he proved that last season. Despite never being a true star, he was one of my favorite Suns players in the last 15-20 years. I can definitely see him going back to Golden State for the minimum or Houston, who might be able to pay him a little more than that. The Rockets would be making the right move paying him just a little bit more to keep him from rejoining Golden State. The Warriors are losing Ian Clark this offseason, so they could use someone off the bench at SG and Barbosa has a history there and playing with everyone, especially Livingston and Iggy in their 2nd unit.
I find it surprising so many people are questioning the decision to let him go though. When he was playing last season, many here called for Ulis to get those minutes and then when Ulis started getting more time they wanted to see Ulis play more or see Derrick Jones get Barbosa's minutes.
Barbosa left a championship team to come back "home", then we cut him. It makes sense from a basketball standpoint, but it doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. Every time I think Sarver is taking a step forward, he shows his true self...
Oh good grief. It's a business not a charity. You can't run a team on sentimentality. If Sarver kept a player like Barbosa here just because it is "home" rather than committing to his younger players then he is just weak--no balls at all.Barbosa left a championship team to come back "home", then we cut him. They could not cut him and have him at the end of the bench just fine. It's not exactly like they're strapped for cash.
How you run your business matters. Take care of your workers and think about your reputation. It's not just dollars and cents.

For all-time suns you do that. For a barbosa you don't.Oh good grief. It's a business not a charity. You can't run a team on sentimentality. If Sarver kept a player like Barbosa here just because it is "home" rather than committing to his younger players then he is just weak--no balls at all.
Easy for you to spend another person's money. You're literally advocating to pay someone millions of dollars just to be nice. They could not cut him and have him at the end of the bench just fine. It's not exactly like they're strapped for cash.

How you run your business does matter, we used to get a Danny Manning for nothing. Now we can't sign any good free agent. They could not cut him and have him at the end of the bench just fine. It's not exactly like they're strapped for cash.

Um, tax payers paid for that arena. I've paid for season tickets. When Sarver gets cheap, I have a right to voice my concerns. And it's not about being nice, there's a reason why free agents only pretend to be interested in Phx since Sarver took over.Easy for you to spend another person's money. Makes no sense whatsoever. Barbosa, even if he stayed, wouldn't have gotten playing time, with or without Knight's injury. I like Barbosa just fine, but at some point you have to go with what's best for the team.Um, tax payers paid for that arena. I've paid for season tickets. I know this is a popular thought, but where is your proof that free agents don't like Phoenix? Because we don't sign any? That's ridiculous. You want to keep a guy because in your mind, he's the only FA that was open to signing with us. That's just not true. Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge... Even Tyson Chandler decided he'd rather stay with us than move on.It doesn't make sense why free agents no longer like Phx? Yet, Phx is now the fastest growing city in the nation? That's nonsensical.
