Why do you keep limiting the convo to 1 game? After we took a 2-0 lead, we got our asses absolutely handed to us in 4 of the next 5 games of that series and then we came out the next season pre-trade with a pretty underwhelming 30-26 record in a really down year in the West.
I know people here love to give Book a pass but there is NO denying a few things. He used to be an empty stat guy. He didn't change until a leader like CP3 got here. He has had multiple games in the playoffs where he didn't really show up which shouldn't happen with your "franchise" guy. He has played with multiple HOF's and couldn't get it done. This team has a personality for laying eggs when adversity hits. Booker is a constant. Booker IMO, owns a huge piece of the teams success but he also equally owns it's shortcomings/failures.

The key here is the success has been so few and far between. His era of being “the face of the franchise” has, outside of one season, been amongst the worst decades the franchise has ever had and the last three seasons plus the 2022 playoffs have delivered a HEAPINGS worth of so many HELLACIOUS ass kickings that 30 point blowouts sprinkled throughout seasons lately have become the norm… all in seasons where we predicted to at least be playoff contenders if not more. At a certain point, when you’re the face of a franchise that gets flat out embarrassed as much as we have in the last 3 years plus, you gotta start taking some of the blame for why the team can be so utterly gutless.

Right now, all the book hate is understandable and I agree w all of it. But book is a home grown face of the franchisee. Ishbia has buried this team. No chance does he have the will to trade book and take the chance of pissing off more people. IMO he signs book to the 2 year extension for 125 mill by the end of summer

I agree with that. I'd go a little further and think it depends on what happens with Beal to see what happens with Book. If Beal is bought out, Booker will call for a max extension. If Beal is kept for another season then I think Book waits to sign just because the future is so much up in the air. I wouldn't be shocked if Booker takes a discount to stay here like Brunson, Mikal, and some Knicks did recently. Time will tell and it depends on what Book sees from the front office.

We're doomed for the next 4-5 years anyways. What happens with Booker won't have much effect. We made our beds when we sold the farm for KD and then brought in Beal. Our draft picks are awful, the cap situation is a nightmare, and the front office/coaching circus is a disaster.

He will continue to bury it if he thinks Book is a #1. In terms of trading Book? Ishbia isn't going to trade is only star that will be left after this season. I think we all agree even if some of us think he should be traded.

Book needs a leader and stop letting him handle the ball. He is much better playing SG. That should happen if they are not trading him. I am in favor of a trade.

I wonder if PatBev or Westbrook are available?

Trying to be fair and objective, I have no idea whether James Jones should be fired, because I do not know whether he was chiefly responsible for hiring the terrible coach Mike Budenholzer. For all I know, Budenholzer was Mat Ishbia's guy, just like the ridiculous Earl Watson was probably Robert Sarver's guy.

Black mark on his record? Well, James Jones does have the "white" mark of making the brilliant Chris Paul trade. Sorry, Steve Nash fans, but I say the Chris Paul trade was bigger and better than the Steve Nash signing in 2004. And drafting Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson.

Mike Budenholzer is clearly an overrated coach. He probably does not deserve much credit for taking the Milwaukee Bucks to the Finals in '21.

Someone on their staff out-coached us. We did not adjust after they won game 3, and 4, and 5, and 6.

if we're going to keep book we might as well turn him into a cp3 - seems like he's halfway there already - he's not a warrior in the same way cp3 isn't - they're both finesse (nice word for it) but they don't play checkers they're on chess

book's never gonna be that guy - that luka that ant that smoke wanting bring your punk ass on mentality

but book could feed that guy - while dropping 20+ a game and 10+ assists a game

look - i am not in the keep book camp - i didnt want jj to stay and i already wish we could get rid of ish but you can wish in one hand and ish in the other... see which one fills up first

but back to book - who has now learned a lot from two of the nba's best to ever do it - with cp3 taking over games and kd being the more consistent than the sun - point book might just be the way

book isn't a cp3 or a kd but he might be our haliburton - get rid of beal and kd - idfk

Why?? Book is a shooting guard, and he should stay a shooting guard. His playmaking is a bonus, and should NOT be his focus as a point guard.

Giannis was injured the previous series. He only got better/stronger, then was able to play game 3. The rest was history.

I think this is what they'll end up doing regardless - because book's not an assassin when the game's on the line

Outcoached? No, outplayed--by Giannis Antetokuonmpo. As surely as Michael Jordan is more responsible than Phil Jackson for beating the Suns in 1993.
