And Paul isn’t blameless either, shooting a weak 2-6.

He had is moment in the sun on offense in the 4th quarter of game 1.
I don’t expect much from him offensively, the rest of the post season.
He needs to be facilitating and play-making at a MVP level, which he isn’t doing.

I think Monty is simply focused on having as many timeouts left for the 4th quarter as possible. Obviously it is to a fault at times, but there have been times where having an extra timeout or two late in the game has come in handy.

Except when he didn't use one against the Bucks at the end of Game 5 last year before Booker got stripped by Holiday.
