NO WAY! NO WAY! NO WAY! Can't happen. Won't happen. Completely, totally ludicrous. For so many reasons. Just couldn't be true, it's so insanely stupid.

If both Kidd and Nash start - who runs point and who spots up for open jumpers? If Nash doesn't run point - then you are taking the 2-time MVP away from his position... If Kidd is designated to spot up - the Suns just took a drop in FG% (then again, Bell has been stinking as of late).

I wouldnt doubt for a second that D'Antoni and others in the front office are trying to get in on the Jason Kidd trade talks. If only for the reason of killing any potential deal that the Lakers might try and pulloff, or atleast raising the price tag of what they would have to offer to get Kidd.

Lets be real here for a second. The Lakers would be a way better team with Kidd if all they had to give up was the trash that is being reported going to NJ.

They should atleast have to move Bynum, Farmer and Walton to get a player the caliber of Kidd, so by us offering a better package we force LAK to either up their offer or back off.

If the Lakers call our bluff and say "Take him" then we have a monster backcourt that D'Antoni would have a field day with, since he now would have two guys that are the #1 and #2 ball distributers in the NBA to play in his ball movement offence.

Sorry but i would take Jason Kidd anyday of the week over Raja Bell even though i love Raja.

Hes a better defender, better rebounder, clearly the better passer and if he got as many WIDE OPEN three pointers as Raja his 3point FG% would be higher.

And now instead of Raja sneaking to the corner for the wide open 3, we would see Nash doing this from time to time while Kidd feeds him.Big difference though is if the shot is no longer there Nash can actually penetrate and shoot or find the wide open man.

The only hit we would take in such a trade would be losing Kurt Thomas.

I wanted him gone all offseason because of his age and possible injuries to come from it, but his post defense and ability to box out to allow Marion and Stoudemire to wreak havoc on the boards has completely changed my tune on him.

We would have to find a stopgap serviceable bigman to replace Kurt Thomas, maybe someone cheap like Kelvin Cato who is just collecting dust on the Knicks bench.

Then in the offseason we replace Kurt Thomas with ATL's draft pick, possibly taking Joakim Noah.

After Trade

Nash
Kidd
Marion
Stoudemire
Diaw

Barbosa, Jam.Jones, Rose, Cato & Burke

2007-2008

Nash
Kidd
Marion
Stoudemire
Noah

Diaw, Barbosa & Jam.Jones (Find a couple more shooters)

We would have to be cosidered bigtime favorites in 07/08.

*LoL, But this rumor is probably BS anyway, but i just wanted to dream alittle about how sick this team could be with Kidd coming back*

The Suns have their hands full with the Mavericks, Spurs, and Jazz. Destroying the team just to prevent the Lakers from getting a little better makes no sense at all.

Hes a better defender, better rebounder, clearly the better passer and if he got as many WIDE OPEN three pointers as Raja he would most likely shoot just as good.

That's just ridiculous. Watch Kidd shoot. Most of his three-point attempts are wide open anyway.

The "rumor," if it even qualifies as that, has the Suns including the Atlanta pick as part of the package. Otherwise New Jersey has no incentive at all to make the trade.

Live chat with Chad Ford:

Max, Los Angeles: What's the latest on Jason Kidd? any chance that it will happen in the next 3 hours before the deadline?

Chad Ford: (12:04 PM ET ) Just talked to Kidd's agent, Jeff Schwartz, on my Daily Dish podcast. You can listen to the link from the ESPN.com NBA front page. He's saying that Kidd will be wearing a Nets uniform tomorrow. Sorry Laker fans.

I'm 99% positive the Suns were merely looking for another Dudley-for-Longley deal. That is, if they called at all.

Getting Kidd wouldnt just make them "A Little Better"

And i doubt the Suns move ATLs pick for anyone, and offering it for Kidd when all LA has offered are no names and scrubs for Kidd would be beyond stupid.

Raja Bell would be better than anyone LA is currently offering since they don't want to part with Bynum.

Raja Bell,Kurt Thomas, Marcus Banks and Clevelands 1st for Jason Kidd

How does LA come up with a better offer if Bynum isnt available?

And i don't call trading Bell and Thomas destroying the team. They are both good role players, but neither is a vital clog that determines if this team will be successful or not. Once the nucleus of Nash/Amare/Marion isnt touched we can plug any kind of role players around them and still win.

Which would you rather have...

Bell and Thomas

or

Kidd and Cato

Kidd is the superior player to Bell so i take the slight dropoff from Thomas to Cato.

In our situation: Bell and Thomas in a heartbeat.
We have enough stars, and losing our two best role players would hurt.

Second that. Kidd is a poor fit for this team.

The Suns were without Bell and Thomas in last year's series with the Mavericks. Would Kidd have made the difference? Heck no.

They don't. That's why Kidd is staying. Narrowly outbidding someone else's crap lowball offer doesn't get a deal done.

Trading for Jason Kidd would have been a huge blunder. The Suns offense would take a huge hit. How could they spread the floor with Marion and Kidd on the floor at the same time?

Now talk about Bell, KT, and the ATL pick for Ray Allen and you have my attention.

I like Kidd, but I think this was just something to try and drive the price up so LA wouldn't get him. If it was already mentioned, sorry, I only read the first page.
