C'mon. The gimmick of a skinny rookie Center playing offense like a Shooting Guard was a novelty that the league caught up with by the next season.

Opponents' Power Forwards or Small Forwards then defended Adams and our Power Forwards (defacto Centers) were overpowered by Centers. Only the opponents were laughing.

Adams should have been moved to a Wing position the next season, but John MacLeod stubbornly stuck with it for a decade. And we never saw a Finals again. Until one time with the Chuckster.

I think you're ignoring some key facts here. They took us apart and took advantage of AA because of injuries to our forwards (pretty much all of them), not because they figured AA out. There was nothing to figure out.

Who took advantage of AA? Opposing Centers? By Adams' second season, and from then on, all of our Power Forwards were de facto Centers. If they were injured, it was because they were taking on players bigger and stronger than they. That wasn't the Suns excuse. That was the cause of the injuries.

Ironically, the only one who made that work was Rick Robey, who became our starting Power Forward after being the Celtics 3rd string Center. 'Too bad we had to give up Dennis Johnson to have a Center (albeit a career backup) in the starting lineup with Adams.

The Suns logo should be OOP. Out of position. And not from a position of strength.

They've tried! Big men who can play do NOT grow on bloody trees.
From Miller, to Longley, to Shaq, to Lopez, to Gortat, to Len and Plumlee.

Now, if you want to argue that they have a tendency to go small too often, then you have a point, but you talk as if though they refuse to have Centers on the roster.

not only that, but they lost a coin flip twice for Kareem/Robinson, drafted William Bedford (who I'm sure BC was creaming his pants over simply because he was 7 foot), tried to trade for Alonzo Mourning back in 1994 and DID trade for Dikembe before the commissioners office nixed it.

and we also can't forget Jake Tsakalidis, who I'm sure BC also flipped for.

bottom line, only a handful of teams in the league are EVER lucky enough to get that top of the line C and that's because they're few and far between and if you didn't happen to be awful the season the went in the draft, you weren't going to get them.

The Mavericks didn't get a top of the line Center, they got a solid one. And it got them a Championship. Although he and Dirk may be too old to do it again now that he is back with them.

Hey, guys, that is all I've wished for. Is that so bad?

And I'll disregard the "creaming in the pants" remark. A Suns championship would bring me joy, but not an orgasm. Is that what it would do to you, cheese? :D

I'm pretty sure I'd lose control of all (and I do mean ALL) bodily functions if they suns ever won the title.

So are you wanting a player like Roy Hibbert?

I would like a starting Center who has the Coach's confidence to play him in the 4th quarter of every game. Such was not the case last season.

Plumlee was starting to become that player after coming off midseason doldrums.
